Your private guide to Nativity Church and Shepherd's Field
Overview of your Jerusalem tour
I will meet you in Bethlehem and we will drive to Manger Square. We will visit to the Nativity Church that was build by Justinian in 530 AD entering the Byzantine basilica through the main entrance" The door of humility" and see the original floor of the first church of Constantine from 326 AD. We will take the steps to get down to the grotto, the spot where Jesus was born from Virgin Mary and then continue to Saint Catherine Church and visit Saint Jerome's Caves to see the place where he translated the bible in the fifth century. A visit to Milk Grotto where it's traditionally believed that Virgin Mary was feeding baby Jesus and a drop of milk felt on the ground and turned the stones all into white. Visit the Shepherd's Field in the town of Beit Sahour, this is the site where the angel of the Lord is said to have appeared before shepherds bringing them good tidings of the birth of Jesus. Joined with a multitude of heavenly hosts, the angel sang "Glory to God in the Highest and on Earth, Peace among men".

Michael is a true local and fantastic guide. We met him in Bethlehem and he took us around. His car was super clean and comfortable and had a couple bottles of water stocked for us (he pays attention to the details). His pace was perfect for us as we worked our way through the tour. There was a good mix of walking, resting, and talking that made this one of the more relaxing tours we took in Israel. We would definitely hire Michael as a guide again.

If you will come from Jerusalem or any other place you can either book a private transfer to "Bethlehem 300 Checkpoint" and cross the checkpoint to the Bethlehem side where I'll meet you or you can take public transportation from Damascus Gate bus number 234 to the meeting point. Once we meet for the tour, I will use my car to move around for the day.
