Overview of your Jerusalem tour
This tour focuses on the story and architecture of Caesarea and on King Herod who built a city as impressive as any in the Roman Empire and a harbor that could be used year round - this is not your ordinary tour of Caesarea, if you liked Masada you'll love this site. Of course we'll cover Herod's palace that was built out into the water with an indoor swimming pool, the harbor , the Roman landmarks - the theater, hippodrome that became an amphitheater, temple to Emperor Augustus, public bathhouse, storage rooms. This tour will show you aqueducts that brought water to the city. But Caesarea is not just Herod, many other important historical figures and events are tied to its history, the Apostles Philip, Simon Peter and Cornelius and Paul, Pontius Pilate, the Jewish revolt against Rome, the Arab conquest and the Crusaders.
