The Dead Sea lives. Private tour by a Jerusalem local guide

The Dead Sea - the lowest (dry) place in the World - is very much alive. It boasts unique historical events - baptism in the Jordan River, Qumeran, the site of the Essens who lived a unique life of purity, the Ein Gedi Oasis - a subtropical island in the harsh desert environment, and Massada - the unique story of the Jewish revolt against the Roman Empire, this is where it began in the year 67 and this is where it ended 6 years later. We will also float in the waters of the Dead Sea, the saltiest body of the water in the World, and visit the sinkholes - a testament to the Dead Sea's revenge, striking back at humanity for what people have done to the Sea. For five years I served as a field guide and directed the Field Study Center at Ein Gedi, and can therefore tell you some personal stories. In one event I met the local leopard (we had several) from a distance of 3 meters. She had very large teeth. Unfortunately, today leopards have become extinct in the Judean Desert.
