Jerusalem's Biblical Zoo Tour

We will start the tour at the front of the zoo and make our way to the deer and gazelle enclosure, those being the animals most often mentioned in the Bible. Next, we will look at the fish and crocodiles in their ponds, delving into their portrayal in Jewish literature. We will see the monkeys and discover the connection between the blessing Jews make over seeing a monkey and the Tower of Babel. We will make a stop at "Noah's Ark" and learn about the tasks of the ancient zookeeper - Noah! Next, we will admire the majestic lions and cheetahs, and hear many of the stories in the Bible where they play a role - including the lion's den the prophet Daniel was thrown into, and Samson's battle with the lion. After that, we will visit some other predators including the vultures, wolves, and bears, and learn their lessons and significance in the Bible. We will end our tour at the petting zoo and cafe in the center of the complex, from where you will be free to continue your journey to other areas of interest.
