We will drive approximately 90 minutes to the coastal town of Caesarea where Herod created his stunning pagan city and busy port. Afterwards we will visit a nearby village (about 30 minutes drive away) where we will meet and eat with the Druze, an Arab minority loyal to the state who serve in the army. Finally we will end our day in picturesque Zichron Yaacov with an optional winery tour, or else walk through an ancient aqueduct which brought water to the Roman town of Caesarea before heading back to Jerusalem.
We will drive from Jerusalem to Caesarea and tour the Roman and Crusader town on foot. Time permitting we will also visit the aqueduct and residential area. We will then continue on our journey to a Druze Village nestled in the Carmel Forest where we will meet our hosts and learn about their beliefs and way of life whilst sampling their delicious cuisine. to end the day we will either go to the early pioneer community of Zichron Yaacov where we can just have a look around or participate in a wine tasting at one of the local wineries. Or we can walk through a water tunnel, which is the aqueduct that provided Caesarea with its water.
