I started out my career as a field guide at the Ein Gedi Field Study Center on the shores of the Dead Sea, which I later became the manager of. With time the shores of the Dead Sea have shifted, as have I. I have worked at the Ministry of Environment, at the Society for Protection of Nature in Israel, at the Technion Institue and at EU funded projects to promote the protection of nature and the environment. I coordinated the first policy in Israel to reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions, the first policy of Sustainable Development and more. If you look at the state of the environment, one might say that I have sort of failed. . . Now, after many years of guiding people as a hobby, I am a certified tour guide who does not aim to compete with other tour guides in remembering dates of events. I compete with them to provide my partners to the tour (you) with an enjoyable experience from which they will come out feeling, knowing and understanding (for example in Jerusalem) much better than when they enterd the Old City several hours earlier, and to make sure that they have had an enjoyable experience. Ceritfied tour guide BSc in Biology (Hebrew University) MPA - Masters in Public Administration (kennedy School of Government, Harvard)

Two churches - Visitation Church where Mary learned that she's bearing child, and St. John Ba Harim Church where the immerser, John the Baptist was born - two churches that comemorate two events that gave Christianity two of the most ancient hymns - The Magnificat and Benedictus. And in between these two churches we will learn about the obsession of purity of that time, of unique individuals that came to live in Ein Kerem at the western part of Jerusalem following the carisma of John. These include Major General Charles Gordon, the Ratisbonne brothers, two Jews who converted to Christianity and formed the Sisters of Zion Order, Eliszabeth, sister in law of the last Russian Zar, all followed the forerunner's place of birth and where he grew as a child, some learning about him and others setting up convents and churches. We will walk through the picturesque alleys of the village that has not changed much during the last 2000 years and attempt to better understand John's childhood.
Tour will begin at Hotel in Jerusalem or at Ein Kerem Prior to meeting we will discuss the route in details to customize it to interests and physical abilities and limitations. These will include: * Walk up to Visitation Church * Walk down to Charles Gordon's 138 year old mulberry tree * Mary's Spring * Yochanan Beharim Church * Sisters of Zion Convent In between we'll stop for a cup of coffee in one of the many shops in the village Another possibility is to meet at the entrance to Karma restaurant in Ein Kerem (by bus or taxi from Jerusalem)
