Irish Games & Culture

Sometimes you want to visit a city and visit the major tourist attractions but other times you want to experience what it's really like to be a local and immerse yourself in local experiences. If this is what you would like then this is the tour for you. It's ideal for individuals, couple and especially families! In the morning you will experience the ancient and traditional Irish Gaelic Games. You will have a fully immersive group experience trying at first hand the Gaelic games of Hurling and Football. After lunch you will be brought to visit EPIC, the Irish immigration museum where you will hear the stories of Irish emigrants brought to life through engaging audio-visual exhibitions and interactive touch-screens. Afterwards we will board the nearby Jeanie Johnson replica Famine ship moored along the banks of the River Liffey and hear about the stories of Irish people who fled the Famine and embarked on a treacherous voyage in the hope of a better life.

Once collected from your hotel I will bring you through the city where we will see some of the main sites on our way to a local Gaelic club where you will have the opportunity to participate and play Irish Gaelic Games. Below is an idea of the itinerary for the day: 9. 00am Pick up from Hotel and drive through Dublin City arriving at the Gaelic Games Club before 10am. 10. 00-1. 00pm Become fully immersed in Gaelic Games by trying at first hand these ancient games. The instructors will let you experience what its like to try at first hand these games. 1. 00 - 2. 30 Stop for lunch at a traditional Irish Pub. 2. 45 - 4. 45 Visit EPIC the award winning Irish Emigration Museum and learn about the Irish diaspora abroad. Here you will find out why they left, where they went and how they shaped the world. We will then make the short journey to board the Jeanie Johnson famine ship. 5. 00 Depart feeling you have fully experienced 'The Full Irish'! If you have any special interests just let me know.
