Hi, my name is Donncha and I would be delighted to be your private driver/guide on your trip to Ireland. Based in County Laois in the midlands of Ireland, I am well located to cover many parts of Ireland. My tours will take you through my own county of Laois, my neighbouring County Kilkenny, County Carlow, County Tipperary and all along the west coast of Ireland - Cork, Kerry, Clare, Galway & Mayo. I offer day trips from Dublin to the likes of Wicklow, Kilkenny and Kildare. Tours of the midlands cover Laois, Offaly and Westmeath while in 'the sunny south-east' I can take you to Wexford and Waterford. I have been operating as a driver/guide for over 10 years. I am a qualified guide, approved by Failte Ireland, our national tourism agency. Your transport will be a Mercedes V-Class with leather seats and air-conditioning. I am passionate about my country, its history and its people and am proud to have been able to demonstrate its beauty and culture to so many people in the past. Always flexible, I am able to take you 'off the beaten track' to show some of the hidden gems of Ireland or any areas and places that might be of special interest to you. A place close to my heart and close to where I was raised is Kilkenny City and the surrounding countryside. Let me enhance your visit to Kilkenny by relating stories of Norman invasions, burning witches, the ancient game of hurling and much more. Kilkenny City has much to offer the visitor and as well as the beautiful castle and historical houses and churches, it has wonderful pubs and restaurants with ample opportunity for shopping. Outside the city there are lots of options in the surrounding counties of Tipperary, Laois, Wexford & Waterford. I can tailor a tour to suit your agenda and schedule.
My day with Don was one of the best days of my trip, and that's a high bar! He's a genuinely lovely human. We made several short stops from Kilkenny to Cork: Cullohill Castle, the Rock of Cashel, St. Mark's Famine Graveyard, Cahir Castle, St. Colman's Cathedral, and the Cobh Heritage Center. Don was always mindful of my slight mobility issues and interests. I even learned some Irish along the way. Thanks again, Don!
Our final tour with Don. A tour from our accommodation in the Wicklow mountains to the beautiful city of Kilkenny. It was hard to say goodbye to Don at the end but we promised to keep in touch. Thank you, Don, for everything. You are truly one of a kind and we will never forget our wonderful time in your beautiful country!

This tour with guide, Don, exceeded my expectations. I especially loved the walking tour of Kilkenny and even joined in to do some busking! We had lunch at a great little Irish pub there too. We visited many special places which only a local would know. Don was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and always on time. His car was spotless and he was an excellent driver. As a single female traveller I was a bit apprehensive about doing a trip such as this, but I needn't have worried.
We enjoyed our tour of Kilkenny with Don Sheeran. He was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Would highly recommend Don to anyone who wants to see the sites and learn more about Ireland !

There are several options for your day and can include some of the following: 1. Kilkenny City & County – Kilkenny Castle, St. Canice’s Cathedral and the medieval city followed by a scenic drive along The Nore Valley with optional stops at places like Kells Abbey and Dunbrody Famine Ship in New Ross. 2. Tipperary – about an hour's drive to world famous Rock of Cashel with stops along the route at Cahir Castle, Fethard heritage town and more. 3. County Laois – a hidden gem in The Midlands of Ireland and fantastic stops at The Rock of Dunamase, Heywood Gardens, Timahoe Round Tower, the heritage towns of Durrow & Abbeyleix plus much more. 4. The South East counties of Waterford and Wexford - Dunbrody Famine Ship in New Ross, Hook Head coastal drive, Waterford Crystal plus more. Remember that it is your tour, and I can amend the day to suit your needs, or it can be combined with some of my day trips in other parts of the country for a longer tour.
