Hi ! I’m Mike, born and raised in Rhodes, and I’m passionate about sharing my island’s beauty and heritage. My parents came from Karpathos, a neighboring island. I was raised in the Medieval town, where I spent my childhood exploring its historic alleys, before moving with my family in the modern city. Like most locals I work hard during the seven - months tourist season, and in the off-season, you’ll find me cycling, swimming, or indulging in a good book—all things that make life on Rhodes even more enjoyable. I’ve been in the tourism industry since my teenage years, witnessing firsthand the transformation of Rhodes into a world-class destination. I will also share tips and extras regarding the Rhodian way of life so you can feel like a local. With me, you will learn about our customs, traditions and the local cuisine will delight you. At the end of the day, hopefully you will fell in love with Rhodes and lured to return soon! * This tour can be customized upon request and is available for groups of more than four guests at an additional cost.

This was a fabulous tour with a fabulous guide. We would recommend Mike V 100%. His English was excellent and it was very easy to converse with him. He was full of interesting information about Rhodes history, but much more than that. He took us to meet a (very old, native) pottery maker, and when we bought (beautiful, unique) olive oil cruets, he asked if we'd like to visit his friend's olive oil business down the road, which we did. We really felt like we got to know the island of Rhodes. Each stop was personalized with family stories, tasting a fruit off a tree, and offers to photograph us at each beautiful place we visited. Our full day tour went overtime with never any hint of extra compensation. And once Mike and my husband began talking Euro League and NBA basketball, it was like spending the day being shown around by an old friend.

Mike did a fabulous job for the four of us. Not only does he know everything about Rhodes (he even showed us the house that he was raised in in the old town) but he is extremely well-versed in everything in the area. We would like to come back and spend a little more time in the area. When we do, I would definitely give Mike another call.

Mike was personable, easy to work with, and spoke great English. He made few itinerary changes to meet our needs. He saw that we were interested in getting background information and provided it. He made stops to stretch and take pictures. He was patient and accommodating, dropping two people off at a bar to relax while the others explored Lindos. His lunch location was beautiful and served GREAT food. Couldn't have asked for a better guide and in talking found out we know his cousin in the USA.
Your Rhodes tour itinerary
Your tour begins by entering the walled city via D' Amboise Gate. Walk over the impressive moat and come to the 14 th century Grand Masters palace and Street of Knights. Next, a ride along the esplanade at Mandraki, the principal harbor of Rhodes. At this location according to historians, Colossus was erected in 292 B. C. From Mt. Smith , the highest point of the city , take in spectacular views of the Aegean sea. Leaving the city, you will stop for a coffee at Anthony Quinn's bay. En route you can also visit a workshop to watch a potter on the wheel. As you round for Lindos the panoramic view is breathtaking. Several vantage photos of the landmark village, St. Paul's bay and continue up to Acropolis. A lunch break at Haraki, next to the sea . Through pine forests you 'll arrive at a natural habitat of unique beauty, the valley with the butterflies ( June to September). At the Minoan city of Ialysos , you'll visit Mt. Filerimos to admire the Church of our Lady and the temple of Athena.
