Hi! My name is George, and I want to welcome you in my beautiful island of Rhodes, where almost every day is a sunny day, probably because Zeus gifted our island to his son Apollo (also known as Helios) - the God of Sun! Proud to be a Greek, I want to share my knowledge about our rich heritage and ancient history with a world, but I also have a passion to travel and learn about other places as well. The more we learn, the more it widens our horizons. This is a mantra I say every day. For many years, before becoming an official guide, I was working as a teacher at primary school, and for more than 10 years I was also a School Principal, so you could say that I helped shaping our future generations of Greeks :) Having Master in Pedagogical Studies gave me a very wide knowledge of our history, and working with children helped me to translate this extremely long and complicated heritage into simplier, more understandable story, which I want to share with you as well. I always wanted to learn and give more, so that’s how I ended up with a second Master in Environmental Education. Having thesis in “Mediterranean diet, tourism and the impact in the local environment” somehow influenced me to open my own travel agency. Unfortunately I didn’t see any prospects in helping to change our educational system in public sector for better, therefore I decided to get back to business, and stop trying to change the unchangeable. Having my own travel agency for the last 10 years widen my horizons, meeting new people and making new friends from all around the world enriched my soul. Raising two children on my own, I was so keen to open my and their borders, that I even participated in “CouchSurfing”, opening my home (and couch) to many highly educated people from the most distant places. From my point of view this created a totally different perspective of hospitality. It’s not just a guided tour or local traditions, it’s meeting each other, sharing our experiences and viewing the world and a new place together from different angles. Let it be Art, Business opportunities, Mythology, Ancient History or Jewish Heritage, I can say that I can translate and share all. I view it as a whole, and it’s truly mesmerizing how they intercept with each other. So if you want not only to learn about my place, this beautiful Greek island, but also in a way to participate in this exchange of knowledge, feel free to book any of my tours or get in touch for custom tailored tour. I am totally flexible, and having a travel agency, helps to provide it all. Starting from different vehicles, I can also supply any kind of means of traveling. So if you want to visit not only Rhodes, but nearby islands also, I can be your guide, and arrange a private motor yacht as well. Not that it’s my goal. Just trying to be helpful for you to see and get the best of it. If you are traveling in bigger groups, I can also accommodate it, as I have plenty of experience handling it every day. I also have passion for Greek wine and Mediterranean diet, so if you’re into that as well, I can help arrange the best experience ever. Wine tasting, Greek cooking experience - you name it! I am also happy to share that I helped many Jewish families to locate and learn more about their relatives missing past history in Rhodes. So if you are one of them, don’t hesitate to get in touch. I will try my best to help you. I work closely with Jewish authorities in Rhodes, who help me to understand the Jewish history and heritage on a much deeper level. I will get my official guide’s license in September, so after that I will be able to accommodate you by myself in all the museums and archeological sites. But even until September, I can do that together with another official guide accompanying me (I employ many through my travel/tour agency, and this is already included in the tour price), so you can be sure, that you will visit the most important sites and have it guided by me fully from the outside and inside as well. I work with companies providing tours for the Cruise Ship passengers as well, so I have a specific knowledge how to tailor the tour for the travelers visiting our island only for a one day. Even in my business I try to offer experiences off the beaten path. To get a day from local perspective. This is how I see traveling. Sharing our local knowledge for you to get a glimpse of our life here. Let me to welcome you in this beautiful Greek paradise!

Let me guide you at one of the most famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites - Medieval City of Rhodes. Built by the Christian military order Knights Hospitallers, it is one of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe. A mixture of architecture dating from the time of the Knights, Ottoman architecture and eclectic buildings, is something out of this modern world, and definitely shouldn't be missed while visiting. During this walking tour we will have a journey through time. You will hear medieval legends and mythological stories. I will show you all hidden secrets, which is not easy to spot without a deep knowledge. I will get my official guide’s license in September, but even until then I can guide inside the museums together with another official guide (included in the price), so you can be sure, that it will be guided by me from the outside and inside as well. On this tour we will see: Street of the Knights, Jewish Quarter, Grand Master's Palace, Archeological Museum and Fortifications of the Palace.
I don't follow a strict program, because each person has different preferences and interests. So if you are more into Architecture, I will try to focus more on the buildings from different periods, or if you are a lover of Mythology, I will try to cover as many mythological stories as possible. • I will pick you up at your hotel, or harbor, if coming by the Cruise Ship. • Medieval Town of Rhodes Walking Tour: ~1 h 30 min Pass by: • Plateia Ippokratous • Street of the Knights • Rhodes Jewish Quarter & Synagogue • other famous sites of Medieval Town • Mandraki Harbor, where famous Colossus of Rhodes - one of the Seven Wonders of Ancient World - once stood. Stop: ~20 min • Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes Stop: ~30 min (Admission tickets excluded. Optional.) • Archaeological Museum of Rhodes (Hospital of the Knights) Stop: ~30 min (Admission tickets excluded. Optional.) • Back to the starting point. Tour can be customized upon request, feel free to contact me.
