My name is Nick and I am a certified, licensed Tour Guide. I was born and raised on the island of Rhodes. Being passionate about history and exploration, I graduated from the History and Archaeology Department of the University of Athens, and I continued my postgraduate studies, obtaining a Masters and a PhD in Byzantine and Medieval Archaeology and Art History. I worked as an archaeologist for the Ministry of Culture of Greece for about 10 years, organizing museum exhibitions and excavating ancient sites. My passion for travelling and meeting interesting people led me to obtain my guiding license. For the last 10 years I have been working as a full time Tour Guide, mainly on my island, Rhodes. Its natural beauty, but also its history, the monuments, its customs and traditions, its food and wine, these are just some of the aspects of this island that I am in love with. It would be my pleasure to introduce you to the magic of this beautiful place. Being a local, apart from the museums and sites, I can say that I know every aspect of my island's unique heritage. From the ancient Greeks to the Romans, from the Knights of Jerusalem to the Ottomans, from the Jewish Synagogue to the most humble Christian chapel. All those years, I have been trying to turn my tours into experiences. I like to walk inside ruins, enter places not often visited, avoiding crowds and long lines. In my tours I promise that I will do my best to meet your expectations. I am extremely flexible, and all tours can be tailor made according to your particular interest and your pace. Just feel free to ask and you will get your answers! * PhD degree in Byzantine Archaeology and History of art, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. * Master's degree in Byzantine Archaeology and History of art, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. * Bachelor degree in Archaeology and History of art, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. * Official Tourist Guide License.

Overview of your Rhodes tour

The medieval town of Rhodes is A UNESCO site, and it's the largest medieval town of Europe still fully inhabited and one of the best preserved in the world. Since the Hellenistic times, there was a Jewish Romaniote community on the island. The Sephardic Jews that settled on Rhodes in 1523 enriched the multicultural character of the island. The walled city is a pedestrian zone, with picturesque cobblestones and beautiful narrow streets and alleys. Close to the modern cruise harbor, guests will have the chance to visit the Juderia, including the Kahal Shalom synagogue (the oldest Sephardic synagogue of Greece) and the very interesting Jewish Museum, the ruins of the Kahal Grande, the Holocaust Memorial, the Alhadeff Park, the Rabbinical College and more. The tour can be customized according to guest's requests and personal interest

Nick was an excellent guide for the Rhodes Jewish Quarter and city tour. He was knowledgeable, and engaging, bringing the history of the Jewish Quarter to life while clearly explaining its significance. The city tour was equally well done, with fascinating insights into the Old Town and its layered history. A well-paced, informative experience that added real depth to our visit to Rhodes.

We have traveled all over Europe, done many guided tours, and Nick was the best guide we've ever had. From the moment we met, he was personal and engaging. His knowledge of Rhodes and its Jewish history was extensive, and his passion for the subject came through in every story he told us. Our time with Nick will always be a cherished part of our time in Rhodes and we highly recommend him.
