Hi! I'm an Italian artist based in Paris, eager to share my passion for artmaking and art history with you! The first time I visited the Musée d'Orsay, my teenage heart was pounding with emotion as I stood before Van Gogh's Starry Night. To my surprise, Monet's Poppy Field was not as large as I had imagined, while Manet's Dejeuner sur l'Herbe looked much bigger. At that time, I did not know that I would spend many years studying painting techniques and copying many of these iconic masterpieces. Now that I am a painter, an art educator, and a licensed tour guide, I am proud to share my passion and knowledge with you, walking you through the same art collections that changed my life! As the daughter of an Italian architect and art historian, I grew up with a deep passion for art. Since my youngest age, my father would encourage me to make copies of the great masters - from Leonardo and Michelangelo to Munch and Van Gogh - and we'd travel the world to see some of these masterpieces in person. That's why, after my fine arts bachelor's degree in classical and contemporary painting in Rome, I naturally turned to teaching academic and modern painting and drawing techniques. Once based in Paris, I discovered a whole new world of modern and contemporary art museums to explore! I took a French Master's degree in Art Mediation (Art Transmission and Education) and Theory of Art of the New Media, and I have been a tour guide and art educator for both individuals and groups since 2015. Even though I was born in "the eternal city", I fell in love with Paris 12 years ago and have been living as a "vraie parisienne" ever since: please don't make me pick my favorite city, it's just impossible! Paris is "a moveable feast", as Hemingway defined it. It is said to be the capital of European modernity, and rightly so, for it is a treasure trove of artistic and cultural riches that I can't wait to share with you. I will use my artist's eye and academic background to enhance your visit, and we'll discover together what makes Art Masterpieces so great. Why is the Mona Lisa so famous? What stands out to you the most in Van Gogh's paintings? What made the Impressionists so revolutionary? Whether we're looking at some ancient or modern art piece, or doing some life drawing at the Louvre, you'll find out how the legacy of the past has always inspired artists, until today. You'll be surprised to discover how many symbols of our contemporary pop culture come from artworks that are centuries old. Discover your favorite artists' creative process together with me, or join me for a life drawing workshop! I base my tours on my favorite activities in Paris: wandering around the astonishing collection of the Louvre, studying the Impressionists' masterpieces at the Musée d'Orsay, chilling at the Centre Pompidou's rooftop after a tour of the cutting-edge art galleries of the Marais quarter, and of course, stopping by to eat a delicious falafel sandwich! I am a licensed guide, so I can give tours in any Parisian museum and create a tailored art workshop for adults and kids. My tours are customizable to best fit your visit plans, so please don't hesitate to contact me. See you in Paris, art lovers! If you love the Impressionists and their legacy, and you want to make sure you and your family don't miss a visit to Monet's monumental water lilies rooms, then this is the tour for you! A former train station, the beautiful Gare d'Orsay displays the widest collection of nineteenth-century painting revolutionaries: Manet, Monet, Degas, Renoir, Cezanne, Van Gogh, and Gauguin. We'll start here, admiring the most famous masterpieces that shaped what we now call Modern Art, with a special focus on Monet's beginnings. But an impressionists' tour wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Orangerie, which is only ten minutes' walk away. You'll have the opportunity to contemplate Monet's sublime Water Lilies panels together. If you're looking for kids activities, or your children are teenagers, please contact me: this tour is customizable into a more playful guessing family game with a little prize at the end!
Itinerary: - Academicism (Bouguereau) and Anti-academicism (Courbet) - Impressionists and affiliated artists (Manet, Monet, Renoir, Degas, Cézanne) - Neo-Impressionism and Post impressionism (Van Gogh, Gauguin) Walk to the Orangerie (10-15 minutes) - visit to Monet's Water Lilies oval rooms - optional: a trivia family game about Monet and the making of the water lilies projects This is a suggested itinerary; you are welcome to ask for customization of the tour according to your wishes! For example, the tour can last 4 hours and include Rodin sculptures and/or a coffee break in between the two museums. NOTE: Depending on affluence and ticket availability, this itinerary might include the temporary exhibitions.
