Hello! Please send me a message before booking, if possible, to make sure I'm available. I work with many partners, and it's possible my availability might not be up-to-date. I try to respond as soon as possible when the request is urgent, but if it's not, it may take more than 24 hours. Thank you for your understanding. Hi ! My name is Lucien and I have been a guide since 2018. I was a school teacher and now I am a "Guide conférencier" : I have a guiding licence. This allows me to guide you in the Louvre as in many other Parisian museums, such as the Musée d'Orsay, or my favorite, the Musée des Invalides. I love history, architecture and art history. I love Paris for its countless stories, impressive architecture and rich culture. I would certainly like to tell you everything I know about the history of Paris! In fact, it will be hard to stop me! I like to show you the most famous places in Paris but I will also try my best to show you Paris off the beaten track! My job is also to show you the real Paris and its real history: I will try to avoid the crowds as much as possible. My expertise in the history of Paris is mainly in the historic center: I can do circuits like the Île de la Cité; the Latin quarter ; halls ; Marsh ; Saint Germain des Prés, Montmartre; a bunch of other things. . . But I also like to go to the flea market in St Ouen (I live nearby). I specialize in the history of the city of paris and in its architectural and political evolution. And I love to dwell on the turbulent episodes of Paris, especially the many revolutions! I do NOT : guide in the Eiffel tower, the catacombs, the Champs Elysées, and I try to avoid Montmartre in the week end . To be honest, I will feel useless there because you can go there easily by yourself. I consider my job is to show you things you won't be able to discover alone! ( But that's just a personal preference! If you really want we can arrange if you have a specific request). If you request a personalized tour, I will be happy to prepare something for you! I work hard to give you quality information. Also, I try to ask for a correct price based on the Guides Syndicate grid. I can include museum tickets if you ask me. I do all my sightseeing on foot. I don't have a vtc license: please don't ask me to drive you! I think in Paris the best is always to walk during my tours. I also believe than using a car in Paris when you have a lot of other choices is a a waste of time and money and contribute to the pollution. Unless we do not have other immediate option, I will always recommend to thake the public transportation. I am happy to adapt my work to children but I am not a babysitter : I'm a professional guide and I spent a lot of time preparing my tours, so please don't leave me your children to go for a walk on your side, it's not my job (yes it is already arrived but we had fun). I'm not a personal shopper, but I'll be happy to recommend certain areas. I'm not really a foodie, but I know a lot of delicious restaurants! One last thing but quite important: I love Paris! For each local Paris is different. But above all, Paris may be different than the city you expect. For example, for some Paris is the city of luxury and fashion. Not that much for me to be honest! So I will be perfect if you want to discover the history of this city and what is behind the postcard. Master degree in Education Science "Guide Conférencier" diploma : I can guide you in all national museums. I usually don't drive in Paris and prefer to take the public transports. Please if you send me a request be kind enough to answer my messages it is very important to me, even you are not interested.

"The Hotel des Invalides" was built for King Louis XIV to welcome the veterans of his countless wars. Today, it is a museum hosting a fantastic collection of art and military art in various collections from the High Middle Ages to the Second World War. The place is fascinating to better understand the history of France and its complexity and in particular its incessant conflicts over the course of history. For example, I really like the section dedicated to the Middle Ages or the one related to the Napoleonic period. But there are also unique places like the "relief plan museum". . . The museum is very, very large and we could not see everything in detail but I would make a selection of the most interesting things or I will adapt according to your interests. And of course I would make you discover Napoleon's tomb, under the great dome. One of the most beautiful places in Paris. The museum is open from 10hrs to 17hrs the best is to start the visit at 10am or from 13hrs / 14hrs
We meet in front of the large portal, in the Rond Point du Bleuet. If it is raining, I will wait for you under the main gate! After getting to know each other, we enter the Invalides and discover this imposing monument. The museum is very large and it will be difficult to visit everything. We will start above all with a visit to Napoleon's tomb, which is a must. Then we will start by visiting part of the museum: the part dedicated to the Middle Ages and the 16th century, Or we can visit the part dedicated to the Napoleonic period. If you have any special interests, please let me know in advance so I can prepare! I propose an itinerary of 2h30 to 3h in the museum which is a very big place. The itinerary can be shorter if you wish, (but the price will remain the same). ( NOT guiding in the World war sections)
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
Walk tour The tour is 2h30 but I can do it longer if you are interested. This is my favourite museum so actually you will have to tell me when you need to go!
Paris, Île-de-France, 75007, France
We will meet in the main entrance of the Invalides 129 Rue de Grenelle, 75007 Paris.
