Overview of your Paris tour
It is impossible to understand impressionism without knowing Claude Monet. He was the strength that took many other artist to review their approches about light and color. He was a charismatic methodic workaholic. Let me show you the place that he choosed to work and to get inspiration from. The cool part of this tour is not only visiting the property but also the area. On our way to Giverny, taking the A13 after 90-km, we get into Normandy by the area of the French Vexin. This is a natural protected-area where you can find villages like La Roche Guyon or Giverny. This last one holds Claude Monet's old Property. The gardens are impressive, specially by September, October. Althought I also like the tulips in April. What is evident is that there is a constantly changing array of colors and forms. To stimulate back then, his owner, nowadays you and me. A big chunk of Claude Monet's 250 paintings are inspired by these landscapes as, for instance, his Water Lilies series.

What an amazing day spent just outside the city! Gustavo was informative and professional and gave us tremendous insight into the life of Monet and the life events that shaped his work. He was kind and patient with me as I walked slowly with a cane. After the Monet house, he drove us home a different way, giving us stunning views of the Normandy countryside. Gustavo is highly educated in the arts and spoke perfect English. We highly recommend this tour!

Book Gustavo for your tour! He was punctual, professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We have booked many tours through Tours By Locals and this was one of the best. Gustavo talked to our 3 teens about French history in a way that held their interest, using contemporary terms and relating it to current events. He somehow managed to squeeze in a side trip to the Petit Trianon & Hamlet (a last minute request) and still keep us on schedule. Thank you for making this a highlight of our vacation!
Your Paris tour itinerary
After 1 hour drive we will visit: - Claude monet house. We get in for a short guided tour - Normandy garden. Another tour here, photos, etc. - Japanese garden. Same thing. - Church and his grave. Interesting spot. We can have a look and take some pictures. - The little village of "la roche Guyon". This is a really special place. I recomend to take a look of the castle. And any special preferences, let me know!
