Hello! Please send me a message before booking, if possible, to make sure I'm available. I work with many partners, and it's possible my availability might not be up-to-date. I try to respond as soon as possible when the request is urgent, but if it's not, it may take more than 24 hours. Thank you for your understanding. Hi ! My name is Lucien and I have been a guide since 2018. I was a school teacher and now I am a "Guide conférencier" : I have a guiding licence. This allows me to guide you in the Louvre as in many other Parisian museums, such as the Musée d'Orsay, or my favorite, the Musée des Invalides. I love history, architecture and art history. I love Paris for its countless stories, impressive architecture and rich culture. I would certainly like to tell you everything I know about the history of Paris! In fact, it will be hard to stop me! I like to show you the most famous places in Paris but I will also try my best to show you Paris off the beaten track! My job is also to show you the real Paris and its real history: I will try to avoid the crowds as much as possible. My expertise in the history of Paris is mainly in the historic center: I can do circuits like the Île de la Cité; the Latin quarter ; halls ; Marsh ; Saint Germain des Prés, Montmartre; a bunch of other things. . . But I also like to go to the flea market in St Ouen (I live nearby). I specialize in the history of the city of paris and in its architectural and political evolution. And I love to dwell on the turbulent episodes of Paris, especially the many revolutions! I do NOT : guide in the Eiffel tower, the catacombs, the Champs Elysées, and I try to avoid Montmartre in the week end . To be honest, I will feel useless there because you can go there easily by yourself. I consider my job is to show you things you won't be able to discover alone! ( But that's just a personal preference! If you really want we can arrange if you have a specific request). If you request a personalized tour, I will be happy to prepare something for you! I work hard to give you quality information. Also, I try to ask for a correct price based on the Guides Syndicate grid. I can include museum tickets if you ask me. I do all my sightseeing on foot. I don't have a vtc license: please don't ask me to drive you! I think in Paris the best is always to walk during my tours. I also believe than using a car in Paris when you have a lot of other choices is a a waste of time and money and contribute to the pollution. Unless we do not have other immediate option, I will always recommend to thake the public transportation. I am happy to adapt my work to children but I am not a babysitter : I'm a professional guide and I spent a lot of time preparing my tours, so please don't leave me your children to go for a walk on your side, it's not my job (yes it is already arrived but we had fun). I'm not a personal shopper, but I'll be happy to recommend certain areas. I'm not really a foodie, but I know a lot of delicious restaurants! One last thing but quite important: I love Paris! For each local Paris is different. But above all, Paris may be different than the city you expect. For example, for some Paris is the city of luxury and fashion. Not that much for me to be honest! So I will be perfect if you want to discover the history of this city and what is behind the postcard. Master degree in Education Science "Guide Conférencier" diploma : I can guide you in all national museums. I usually don't drive in Paris and prefer to take the public transports. Please if you send me a request be kind enough to answer my messages it is very important to me, even you are not interested.

It was in the heart of the Latin Quarter that Paris was built thousands of years ago. With some Roman ruins remaining and a bohemian atmosphere, you will feel like you are walking through time as you discover the most beautiful gems that make this 5th arrondissement the true soul behind Paris. Before, the Latin Quarter was the backbone of the French intellectuals that would gather here. And today, it is a lively district frequented by a bohemian crowd of thinkers and students who express their 'joie de vivre' in the picturesque cafés. If you follow me I will share with you all about the mysterious origins of the city, the history of its first legend. I will show you the oldest buildings in the city and some magnificent monuments. And above all, I would be very happy to share with you what it is to be a Parisian in this fantastic district.
We find ourselves in the small Place Saint-André des Arts. After getting acquainted and a little introduction, we will start the tour. If you need we can have a talk and a drink in one of the cafés nearby. We will go through the Saint Séverin district, then I will show you the oldest building in the city, the Thermes de Cluny. It is a very touristic area but very interesting. Then we will escape the crowd: we will "climb" the Montagne Sainte Geneviève to pass near the Sorbonne. Then you will discover the Pantheon, as well as my favorite church, Saint-Etienne Dumont. The next stop will be Place de la Contrescarpe and the rue Mouffetard. Perfect place for a drink and a break if you need it. We will finish at the Arena of Lutetia, or if we have time enough, in the Jardin des Plantes. And if you have any special interests, please let me know!
