Hello and welcome! My name is Mohamed, but friends and guests usually call me Maga. I’ve been a licensed tour guide since 1999, and over the years I’ve had the joy of leading thousands of travelers through the wonders of Egypt. However, guiding is only part of my story—I also worked for many years as an archaeologist, which means I can share with you not only the legends and stories but also the real discoveries and the latest research findings. I’m fluent in Arabic, English, and Russian, which enables me to connect easily with guests from diverse backgrounds. Whether you’re looking for a casual introduction to Egypt, a family-friendly adventure, or a deep academic discussion, I’ll make sure the story of Egypt reaches you in the way that feels most natural and engaging. My path started with a bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hotels at Helwan University. A few years later, in 2003, I earned a joint master’s degree in Heritage Conservation and Site Management, a special program between Helwan University and Brandenburg University of Technology in Germany. That experience gave me both a local and international perspective on how precious heritage should be understood and protected. In 2008, I completed my Ph.D., which was a big milestone for me. But my curiosity didn’t stop there. Today, I’m working on what I like to call my “life project”—a second doctoral research, this time on the roots of modern religions in Ancient Egypt. Over the past ten years, I’ve published 16 research papers (in Russian), mostly focused on Dahshur, where I carried out my last active excavations with the German Archaeological Institute. Dahshur remains very close to my heart. As a guide, I’ve organized and led over 3,000 tours across Egypt. From the peaceful Red Sea resorts of Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada, to the vibrant streets of Cairo and Alexandria, and deep into Middle and Upper Egypt, I’ve had the privilege of meeting people from all walks of life. For me, guiding is not just about dates and facts—it’s about bringing history to life with warmth, humor, and passion. When you travel with me, you’re not just hiring a guide—you’re sharing an adventure with someone who truly loves Egypt, both its past and its present. Together, we’ll explore, discover, and create memories that will stay with you forever.
