Nahla took us out to the western desert to see something of Egypt that we wouldn’t see in Cairo or on our Nile cruise. We had an awesome time! She was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly! We learned so much about the geological history of Egypt that was new to us.

Nahlia provided exactly the tour I'd hoped for. She adapted the tour a little to include some birding at the wadis, as requested. Wadi el Hitam is stunning - the whale skeletons are in the desert where they were found and have to be seen to be believed. The landscape around it and the desert drive to reach it were stunning. The coffee stops were excellent! a great day out with a knowledgeable guide and driver.
The site didn't give me the option, but I would have rated Nahla 10 stars! She is knowledgeable, fun and intuitive about what interests you and what doesn't. I did 3 day tours (Alexandria, Fayoum/Valley of the Whales, and Garbage City/City of the Dead). All of the sites were fascinating and the drivers were courteous and professional. Nahla gave just the right amount of information and was always there to take a picture of you. By the end, I felt like I was touring with a friend, not a tour guide
This experience is only possible with a professional guide like Nahla. It is a 2-hour journey into the Sahara desert in a jeep with a professional driver. At the half-way point, the roads start to disappear under sand dunes. A portion was also done off-road (up and down sand dunes!). The fossilized whales were amazing, the museum was new and air-conditioned, and we also tried sand-boarding, saw flamingos, visited the Magic Lake, and most importantly, the desert scenery was incredible.
Nahli arranged a perfect day 4WD desert driving tour expedition south of Cairo & thru the Sahara out to the Wadi Al-Hitan / UNESCO site, ... but also taking in the Northern & Western parts of the Fayoum Lake / Quaroum ?sp? Lake areas, lakeshore vistas, the waterfalls, geological formations & more - we got to see it all & experience everything. The vastness & utter emptiness of the Sahara has to be experienced to believe & appreciate. Al-Hitan is a fossil word + desert hills, valleys and panoramas. Enjoy!
