Half Day Tour to The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)

Ereen customized this visit to show me the exact things in which I was interested. A very kind and knowledgeable guide, quite accommodating. I wish she were my guide for my entire Egypt trip!! Would definitely recommend 100%!

Ereen gave us a tour of the GEM, a few days after its Grand Opening which now included a huge number of King Tut's 5000 items found in his tomb. Since she had not given a tour in the expanded GEM, she said she had spent 6 hours there the day before to figure out how to give us a great tour. She and her driver picked us up at the hotel and drove us to the Gem. When we got in, she said "I have a plan" for seeing the museum. The museum is huge and the crowds were also huge. And she delivered on a very interesting tour. First we visited the famous large solar ship of King Cheops. Then we saw her curated snapshot of the non-Tut part of the museum, then she us left to wander the enormous Tut exhibit - a group tour would have been next to impossible with the crowd.. The Gem is a must see, if you are in Cairo. And if you go to the Gem, be sure to go with Ereen, she is the best of guides..

This was one of many tours we undertook with Ereen during our stay in Cairo and is definitely one of the 'must do's' whilst in the city. From the initial contact with Ereen, where she answered all our questions, and helped us craft the perfect, personal visit to a very busy location. Our driver, was amazing and drove with great care and consideration for us as his passengers and between the pair of them created am amazing environment, where we could sit back and relax and take in the sights and sounds of the city and the location we were visiting. The tour was tailored to our own timings and requirements and completed at a pace that worked for us and nothing was too much. The museum is both beautiful and intimate in equal measures. No hesitation recommending Ereen to anyone and would happily use her services again.

Ereen spent the day with us taking us to the new museum of Civilization in the morning, and the older National museum in the afternoon. She is an exceptional guide, moving us through in an organized efficient way but also taking account of our interests. She is most delightful, smart, thoughtful and knowledgable, and over our 3 days with her she became our friend.

You definitely need a guide for the National Egyptian Museum and we highly recommend Ereen. We had a very thoughtfully curated tour which included the marquee pieces (Tut!) but also many items whose significance we would have missed without Ereen's expert commentary. Thank you so much!
