Hello, my dear future friend, my name is Sebastián and I'm a naturalist national guide of this, little but diverse country of Ecuador. Due to my father's job, I grew up in different little towns in the countryside and in my grandparent's farm, full of animals, crops, forest and rivers. Perhaps, this close and early contact with Nature, plus my curiosity to understand how things work, were the main reasons to have fallen in love with the natural world, and eventually needing to share this admiration for Nature and try to spark some awareness on our global environmental problems as a guide. After finishing my University degree in Ecotourism I've worked for some of the most prestigious lodges of Ecuador as: Kapawi Lodge, Sacha Lodge, Mashpi or La Selva Lodge. I have also been involved with different biology research projects on mammals, toads and birds, around the country. Last year, I just finished my second degree, at distance, in Environmental Management while working as a driver guide and tour leader. Sometimes I am a traveler, sometimes a photographer, not often enough a diver, but always a nature lover, . . . come with me, so I can show you the wonders of Ecuador. National Guide License Open Water Diver License Wilderness Advance First Aid (WAFA), CPR and Airway Management Certified. Field Assistant and Field Researcher in various biology studies on mammals, toads and birds. Participant in different courses like: Herpetofauna of Ecuador, biology of Mammals, Mammals of Ecuador, Geology of Ecuador or Formation of Environmental Educators. In my car I can take 3 passengers seated comfortably, but bigger vehicles can be arranged if needed. Due to local driving restrictions I cannot drive (on the rush hours) within the city on Mondays

Mindo area, northwest of Quito, holds some of the last remnants of the Chocó cloud forest, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems of the world; recently declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Mindo is a small peaceful town inserted in a cloud forest valley surrounded by steep slopes; considered a Mecca for photographers, birdwatchers and nature lovers of all ages who visit the country. After, over a twenty year never-ending green transformation (thanks to Ecotourism), this biodiversity "Hot Spot" currently supports more than 600 species of beautiful orchids, over 500 birds and a human population, mainly involved in ecotourism and conservation. Not only the most important birdwatching spot in the country, but the perfect place for activities to reconnect with mother Nature. You might be a photographer, a birdwatcher, an adrenaline seeker or someone in search of natural beauty away from the city lights while enjoying amazing nature and delicious food, it doesn't matter. . . Mindo cloud forest has it all.
Day 1. We drive northwest to Pululahua crater, for a quick stop to enjoy the view of this potentially active inhabited volcano; then we continue descending the western slopes of the Andes into the cloud forest while enjoying lush and green landscapes. We'll visit a private "Hummingbird Garden" where to witness a wide variety of flying jewels, take hundreds of fabulous pictures and videos; then we'll continue driving until Mindo for lunch. From the possible activities (orchid garden, butterfly house or chocolate tour) we get to do at least 2. Dinner and rest. Day 2. After a restful night and breakfast we are ready for some adventure: a walk to the waterfalls, canyoning, zip-lining, birdwatching. . . you decide. Afterwards, we collect the luggage, find some tasty lunch, in town or on the drive back to the "Middle of the World Valley" where to visit the Equator Line at the "Inti-Ñan Museum"; finally, we drive to your hotel to finish the tour.
