Greetings. Welcome to Copenhagen! I am a retired American diplomat with over 40 years of "traveling the world" experience. I have been based mostly in Denmark since 2011, where I live happily with my young Danish children. I am an expert on Copenhagen and its surroundings, having literally biked to every nook and cranny of the area, and throughout Denmark. As a career public affairs officer, I have organized tours and official programs for countless American delegations in countless countries. I am now overjoyed to be organizing private tours for private citizens to enjoy this wonderful region. I am told that I am a fun spirited and humorous conversationalist with a passion for history and politics. I will work closely with you to adjust any tour to best fit your needs. Two beautiful castles and a gorgeous lake
Overview of your Copenhagen tour
We will start the tour with a brief train ride to get outside of Copenhagen, disembarking 1-5 miles from Frederiksborg Castle, depending on the amount of biking you wish to accomplish for the day. We will bike and walk around the beautiful Castle gardens and surrounding grounds and enjoy a castle tour. We will bike along the shores of the beautiful Esrum So (lake) and enjoy a coffee (wine) overlooking the lake. We will stroll in the gardens of the King's summer residence and tour the castle if the Danish king is not in residence. We will return by bike to Frederiksborg Castle and train to Copenhagen

Meet Copenhagen Central Train station, or any location of your choosing within the greater Copenhagen area. - Train to a location close to Frederiksborg Castle, depending on your target number of biking miles for the day - Bike to Frederiksborg Castle and tour the castle - Walk and bike around the spectacular castle grounds - Bike along Esrum So (lake) to Fredensborg Castle - Enjoy a coffee on the shore of Esrum So and walk the castle grounds - Return by bike to Hillerod and by train to Copenhagen
