A Danish anthropologist and global adventurer. I provide you with a customized, personal and memorable experience in Denmark, where I am born and raised. Being a local with a long overseas experience (25 years in Asia, America and Africa) has given me the capacity to have a good feel for what makes Europe, Denmark and Copenhagen exiting for a visitor. I live in the central Østerbro neighbourhood of Copenhagen. Whenever I have some free time, I enjoy riding bicycle or hiking in the beautiful nature surrounding Copenhagen and to explore natural, cultural and historical places. I divide my time between being a tour leader to Asian countries, giving lectures about China, Taiwan, Cambodia and Vietnam and being a ToursByLocals guide in Copenhagen plus a few other things. I am very open to customizing tours to suit your specific interests. My aim is to give you a unique, personal and memorable experience of Copenhagen, Zealand, Southern Sweden or beyond and that each tour will be different. You can either book one of my published tours or send me a message and let me know what your interests are and I will customize a private tour matching your needs. We can go by private car, public transportation, bicycle or foot. We can explore nature or places of cultural and historical interest. Or maybe you are interested in seeing how the local people live? If you choose to go by car I will be your driver as well as I am licensed with a professional drivers license. Welcome to the best sites of Copenhagen! I am a local that over decades has been visiting the inner city of Copenhagen and I am looking forward to sharing my insights with you! During this 5 hours walking tour you will discover the inner city area of The Kings New Square (Kongens Nytorv) and the iconic Nyhavn. Following this, you will get a feel for the royal area, the Amalienborg Castle with its stately buildings, the place where the Danish royal family lives during the winter season. A stroll along the charming inner harbor with views to the Opera House will take us to the Little Mermaid. We will return by subway to the central pedestrian area "Strøget", where also the famous Round Tower (Rundetårn) is situated. We will visit the Inner City as well as Freetown Christiania in Christianshavn From Christianshavn we return by metro to the inner city. I will ensure that you will have an enjoyable day and as a local Dane, also tell you all about Denmark and its people, history, society, nature, and culture.
Henrik was so knowledgeable and friendly. He knows Copenhagen like the back of his hand but if you want to talk cooking, living in the jungle and all over the world, or motorcycling, he's your man. Honestly, Henrik is interesting enough you could skip the tour, find a pub, and just hang out. One of the best guides we've had.
We had a great time with Henrik. He regaled us with stories while showing us all the best sights of Copenhagen. His knowledge and delivery were exceptional. He was very personable and a delight to be with.
Henrik was great. Very accomodating and patient as we had a group spanning late teens to an 84 yo grandfather. Our cruise ship was also late arriving so had to pivot timing a bit. Henrik is extremely knowledgable about the area, its history, customs, etc. I wish we had more time but the limited span was excellent. I'd highly recommend Henrik!
We did the 6 hour walking tour and it is a lot of steps (6 miles) - but exactly what we wanted. Henrik is well-informed about every part of Danish society - historical, current, religious and military. We skipped the over saturated little Mermaid for the Freetown of Christiania (sp) which was fascinating. Henrik has had a very eclectic background and he often brings his broad personal story to bear to bring unique perspectives. He loves what he does

This was my second tour with Henrik. It was Mist again very much fun full of facts both historical and comical. A truly enjoyable adventure. I can highly recommend Henrik. An all round knowledgeable und charming guide.
