Hi, my name is Ana Maria and I was born and raised in Rio. I love to share with others my love for the city. My hobby is to discover the best places in the city in order to offer them during the tours. I'm certified by Embratur as a tour guide in Brazil. I worked for IBM as a bilingual secretary while attending my university degree in Portuguese and English Literature. Now I'm a retired teacher and the owner of an Art Gallery in Rio. I worked for São Paulo and Pernambuco Government in tourism, where I undertook a post-graduate course in Tourism Planning and Management. Since then I've been offering private tours for foreign people in a very natural and delightful way. I usually drive my own car for a maximum of 3 people (comfortably) or 4 (if not a big size person) and let the beauty of the city leads us through your wishes. For a larger group we explore Rio with a driver + van service. I'm constantly updated with the recent events and attractions to make your stay an amazing experience! Let me surprise you! Note : Most of my customers' reviews are 5 STARS and I'm very happy with their recognition! See one of them below: TRAVELER PUBLIC COMMENT: We have used Tours by locals before and knew we would have a great time. Ana was amazing. She looked after us so well. Considering I had been ill she took even more care of us. She made sure that our visit to Rio was awesome. We had a wonderful time in Rio and due to Ana's knowledge of Rio we will definitely be going back to Rio. We saw everything that we were promised and waited very little time to see the amazing sights, Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf Mountain. Thank you again Ana for a fabulous day Certified by Embratur as a tour guide in Brazil and South America Licensed for teaching English / Portuguese Languages and Literatures by State University of Rio de Janeiro - Brazil Post graduation in Tourism Managment and Planning by Federal University of Pernambuco - Brazil

Chidren and parents have a wonderful place to spend a day in Rio. It's the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, in South Zone. You'll meet the locals and experience their day to day activities. I'll guide you around the lagoon shore where a lot of entertainments (for all ages) take place: rent a bike to ride along the bike lines, take a walk and enjoy the large and green field for kids run and play. There are also several restaurants known by the locals as "quiosques" with live music show at night and a great variety of food and drinks all day long. Just only 10 minutes distant we may visit the Botanical Garden which is part of the Tijuca National Forest and offers a wonderful green area with more than 8, 000 species of plants and around 150 different species of birds and mammals fairly easy to be observed during the visiting. There is an artificial lake full of different kind of rivers' fish, Amazonian lilly flowers and streams coming down the Corcovado slopes. It'll be a day of fun and history for your family!
Tour itinerary will be the following: Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon playground and pier Catacumba's Park for practicing radical sports Botanic Garden with more than 8. 000 species from all over the world Olympic Boulevard - AquaRio, Museum of Tomorrow, biking tours along the boulevard Please send me a message if you would like to customize this tour.

Most of the time we will be on a modern, clean, air-conditioned car. The car fits the driver, the guide and 3 paxes comfortably. If your group needs more comfort I may rent a van with a driver, changing the number of the tour to #123170 - Rio for Groups and the costs to 720USD
