Hi I'm Val, I have been working in the travel business since 2001. For 14 years I lived in USA and worked mainly introducing North America, between Canada and USA, to Brazilian tourists. Some years later I moved to France where I started targeting the American and Canadian markets as well as the Brazilian tourists that were visiting Europe. I'm back in Brazil since 2001 since then I have been working as an official tour guide in Rio de Janeiro. It is really a privilege for me to have this job and the chance to show visitors the wonders of Rio de Janeiro, guiding and disclosing this enchanting city with all its history, traditions, culture and of course, natural beauties. All those years spent abroad helped me having a very good understanding of my clients expectations. I try to meet the needs of each customer tailoring the tours according to the interests always focusing in quality, comfort and security. Thank you for choosing the marvelous city of Rio de Janeiro as your destination! It will be my pleasure to show you around! On this tour we walk around at not so famous neighborhoods but certainlly important to form our history and culture. Santa Tereza is a hilly neighborhood filled with local artists where it's possible to try the best "pao de queijo" (cheese bread) in town as well as observe arts not seen in any other areas. A mix of a hippie and artistic environment, this a "must do" experience!
Ths bucolic tour is focused on the charming sights of Rio. - After visiting one main attraction such as Sugar loaf, we'll visit the hilly and old neighborhood of the city called Santa Teresa. - Up there we'll walk along the gifts and art shops that carry very specific art mostly found there only. There are also cute little cafes where is possible to try the typical "tapioca creps" among other Brazilian delicacies! - Descending towards Downtown Rio, we'll stop at Selaron steps, a colourful tile decorated stairs that connects the city to Santa Teresa area. Please send me a message if you would like to customize this tour.

Private transportation, I drive my own car when groups are up to 3 or 4 people. For larger groups I rent a big Mercedez van with a driver.
