I'm not a fan of Wikipedia facts on city tours. I'd much rather show you my city the way I experience it every day. Born and raised in Sarajevo, I spent almost ten years living away from it — Germany, France, Austria, Czechia, South Africa — until I returned in 2021. This time not only as a Bosnian, but as a curious traveller too, with perspectives I'd collected along the way. I realised tourism here is still stuck on headlines from the 90s. Which is a shame, because there's so much more. Food, landscapes, everyday customs and culture nobody is talking about or showing. Filling that gap is what my tours are for. They'll treat you to a local lunch at my friend Nera's cottage in Lukomir, a demonstration of my coppersmith friend Kenan's work during our city tour, or a glass of rakija with my dad Mahmut during a barbecue in our garden. We call this ćejf — the small moments that make life worth living. I bring deep knowledge of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but as someone who studied and worked internationally, I also draw parallels to world history and politics. You never have to be too polite to ask me what you really want to know. Things here can seem complicated, and I'll walk you through it the way I'd explain it to a friend, not a lecture hall. What sets a day with me apart is access to the lived reality of Bosnia and Herzegovina: my actual friends, my actual family, the places I already go and love. What my guests tell me most often is that travelling with me feels like having a local friend. So if that's the kind of day you're craving, I'm your guide.

Most visitors to Sarajevo never leave the old town. This tour changes that. Step away from Baščaršija and discover Grbavica: the real Sarajevo, where everyday life actually happens. Over 5–6 hours, you'll visit five carefully selected local spots — two traditional aščinicas, a buregdžinica (burek bakery), the local market, a beloved patisserie from the 70s, and a student favorite for a rakija stop. Expect generous portions of Bosnian classics, enough to replace a full meal. Along the way, you'll hear stories about Sarajevo's food culture, daily life, and history — including a stop at Grbavica Stadium, home of FK Željezničar and one of the city's most powerful symbols. We keep groups small (max. 8 guests) so we can go where others can't: places without English menus, without tour buses, and without inflated prices. In the end, it feels less like a tour and more like an afternoon spent eating your way through Grbavica with a local friend.
Skip the tourist center and eat where locals actually eat Taste 6 authentic Bosnian dishes — no small samples Explore Grbavica, a real Sarajevo neighborhood Visit the iconic Grbavica Stadium Enjoy a rakija stop in a local bar Small groups (max. 8 guests) for a personal experience You will end in a Tito themed Bar at the Historical museum from where you can continue drinking your drinks or head back to you hotel
