Experience the best of Sarajevo, from History to Local Food

I highly recommend this tour with Asim and his war veteran companion. You will see not only Sarajevo but also experience the war with the veteran who will retrace his services during the nearly 4 year war. The War Veteran (his name escapes me unfortunately) took the morning and it went by FAST. He explained the war from beginning to the end for us, showed us key places throughout Sarajevo and the surrounding hills and even went into the famous tunnel dug under the airport runways. After a local delicious lunch with the war veteran and Asim, he then took over and showed us the highlights of the local downtown of Sarajevo. Asim is an enthusiastic, highly knowledgeable and personable tour guide who gave us a brief afternoon introduction to the history of the core of Sarajevo. I would highly recommend Asim and the war veteran to others to book a tour.

We had an amazing day on this tour. We learned not only about the Siege of Sarajevo, but how people lived and survived during it. We learned about the history of the city, the complexities of the different peoples who have lived and are living here. Our guide was able to give us a great mix of both history and culture and really helped us better understand a country different from ours. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to the Balkans and an experience we will never forget.

Excellent tour and perfect host! I did the war tour, local lunch and old town components with Asim, who was whip-smart, unfailingly professional and well-organised; a very charming guy and great company. Asim's passion for his city and its history were so impressive, and every element of the tour had clearly been well-thought through.
