Half-day Sarajevo Private Tour

Dzana was an outstanding guide for myself and my family, which included two children aged 8 and 12. I rarely do tours, but felt it important to do so in order to get the most out of our limited time in Sarajevo. Dzana was great at providing a mix of activities. We enjoyed trying out Bosnian coffee or salep and stopping to sample traditional baklava. I liked that the tour included an overview of the history of Sarajevo, as well as a deeper focus on more recent events from thirty years ago. We felt lucky to have Dzana as a guide as she was able to relate her own personal experience from that time, as well as her personal connection to the Tunnel of Hope in the latter part of the tour. We all learned so much from the four hours we spent with her, and it was definitely the highlight of our trip around the Balkans. I cannot recommend Dzana enough - she was the perfect guide. Dzana was the perfect person to show us Sarajevo. She provided a customized tour that met our needs for frequent rest stops during the walking portion in Old Town, all the while telling us a great deal about the history of Sarajevo and about the culture. We experienced Bosnian coffee first hand, and learned about the social customs associated with it. We tasted a fabulous Bosnian pastry made from the shop owner’s family recipe. We saw shops and shoppers and learned about the role of various religions in Sarajevo’s history. She had much information and insight to share about those and also the ‘90’s war and shred what she and her family experienced first hand. In the driving portion of the tour we saw the city outside of Old Town, including Sniper’s Alley and the Tunnel of Hope and more. Her car was comfortable and roomy. Dzana kept teaching us about Sarajevo after we parted as she sent multiple recommendations for restaurants serving traditional Bosnian dishes. We highly recommend Dzana to guide you through the City of Sarajevo.

My wife and I had a terrific tour of Sarajevo with Dzana. She is an excellent guide and an even better person. We had a very enjoyable day despite learning of her family’s sacrifices during the area’s war-torn history. A personal tour that went far and beyond my expectations. Dzana combined her detailed historical knowledge about her city and country with vivid personal anecdotes that brought the tour to life. Particularly for those who are interested in the recent history of Sarajevo, I strongly recommend Dzana's tour. She will add color and sounds to those blurry and gray images and recordings you may have seen on your TV screen in the early 90s. I am very pleased to have reserved a personal guided tour with Dzana. I will think of her stories whenever I look back on my visit to this beautiful city.

Excellent tour or Sarajevo with a brilliant guide Dzana Brankovic. Dzana was extremely informative and very patient in answering our many questions. We gained a much better understanding of the history of this city and some of the difficulties faced. The visit to the tunnel under the airport runway capped this valuable experience. Wow. Absolutely mind blowingly good. She rocked my world with historical overviews combined with personal narratives. Her storytelling skills were top notch and the fact that she lived an important part of this history and benefits from a broad sweep familial insight, this makes her tour incredible. I have been on many tours and this one grabbed me like none before. Frankly, I would return to Sarajevo simply to learn more with her. She speaks better English than most of my American friends.
