The roads of the Kings

This area of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not very tourist, but it has amazing potential. Bobovac, as a historic capital of medieval Bosnia is by itself a very interesting place. This is a fortress place where the Kings lived. We will visit the ruins of the Old City which is abandoned for 5 centuries. Also, we can see how the people live in villages close to it nowadays and try something of the rich and delicious local cuisine. Kraljeva Sutjeska is also a notable historical place with a rich cultural heritage. We will visit a Franciscan monastery built in the 14th century, and also the small mosque of Mehmed Fatih, one of the first mosques in Bosnia, made just after the conquest of the Ottoman Empire. At the end of the tour, we can see the small industrial city of Vareš and if the weather allows us, we can take a swim in the Nula Lake.

From Sarajevo to Kraljeva Sutjeska, we have one hour of driving. That time is to meet each other better and to get basic information about this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially about the period of 12th-15th century, in the Kingdom of Bosnia. In Kraljeva Sutjeska, in a Franciscan monastery, we can learn things about Catholic culture and religion in Bosnia. People who live in the monastery, monks, are very friendly and full of information, so we can hear and learn some smart things from them. After Kraljeva Sutjeska, we go cca. 30 minutes by car into the hills, looking for the ruins of the forgotten Kingdom. After that, we will go to the nearby village of Miljakovići, where we will taste some local food and experience local culture. At the end of the day, we will pass next to city of Vareš and take a refresher in Nula Lake. Sarajevo - Kraljeva Sutjeska - Bobovac and village Miljakovići-Vareš-Sarajevo Itinerary is flexible, so we can change a tour regarding the needs and wishes of a customer.
