If you want to hear personal story from the Bosnian war, to visit main sites related to the period of the longest siege in modern history, to go beyond the surface - this is perfect tour for you. The tour is designed to better understand the situation and what happened in B&H 1992-1995, after the referendum and dissolution from Ex-Yugoslavia. This is the story about Bosnian Romeo and Juliet that survived the war despite everything. True story published in Der Spiegel, July 1993 by Walter Mayr. The story about Sarajevo Red Line, the name of the memorial event organized in cooperation between the City of Sarajevo and East-West Theater Company which commemorated the Siege of Sarajevo's 20th anniversary. It was held April 6, 2012 in the main Sarajevo Street and it consisted of a large chair installation, street exhibition of war posters and a concert. Authors describe Sarajevo Red Line as a drama and music poem dedicated to the Sarajevo citizens killed during the 1992-96 siege of their city.
We really loved our Sarajevo-tour with Danijela! She is easy to be around, very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. What we appreciated the most was that she combined history/facts with her own personal story and views. This is truly a unique way to understand the local situation before, during and after the war. Danijela was a fabulous guide for our group! She provided a very personal account of what it was like for she and her family to live through the siege of Sarajevo. A very chilling and fascinating experience all rolled into one. A tour like this is an absolute "must" for any visitor to Sarajevo. I would highly recommend Danijela as your guide!!
Danijela's tour is a must if you visit Sarajevo, she can describe all the events that hit this worn torn city as if she was there. Well she was, so she is not just relying on history books, that she could regurgitate, she has lived it! Image having a tour of a second world war battle given by someone who was there...... she is second to none. The tour information was generally unbiased but there was a little, but who could blame her. Well done!
Danijela was very attentious and well informed about all historical aspects of the war and the city. It was very touching tour because she gives her personal information and life experience during rough war times. We had a 360° tour around Sarajevo also got all kinds of tips about food and spots to explore by ourselves. We can say that she is superb. Helped us a lot finding nice spots to photograph the hole. We could't ask for more :)
It was a great 5 days with Danielja, taking care all 4 of us ensuring that we are safe and comfortable throughout. She went above and beyond in every aspect of her service even loaning my 2 kids her children's ski suit! Thanks Danielja! Will engage you again when we return to visit the Balkans..
