Hi, I am Raf, and welcome to Brussels! A native Belgian, I moved to Brussels in 2008. In a nutshell: I am a freelance guide in the city & multiple museums, a freelance musician, and a lover of history and languages. Originally from the Flemish countryside, I have gotten pretty engaged with this city, through my work as a guide in museums and out on the streets, as a musician (cathedral singer), as a coworker, teacher,... Brussels has a rich history, beautiful architecture, lively church communities, great musicians, myriads of languages, colourful minorities, major political institutions... To me, it has been the source of countless opportunities and experiences, discoveries, and yes, challenges too - as in life, so in Brussels. I would be happy to be your guide, and tailor a visit to your needs as good as possible. Please remember that all my tours can be customized according to your requests. Let's have a chat!

Brussels is the European city with the largest presence of EU institutions. In fact, many refer to it as the capital of Europe. You’ll find here the European Commission, the European Council, the Committee of the Regions, the European Economic and Social Committee, just to name a few. Most of these institutions are concentrated in one district, located slightly outside the city center. I work as a museum guide in several museums in this area and have many friends employed in and around these institutions. As a result, I come here almost every day—whether for work or leisure. On this tour, I’d love to introduce you to this monumental part of Brussels. I’ll show you how people work and live here, and take you to some hidden gems you might not discover on your own. We can optionally visit the House of European History—a free museum—grab some local fries, or even book a visit to the European Parliament itself.
- Meeting point: under the monumental arcades of Cinquantenaire Park - Schuman Roundabout: home to the European External Action Service, the European Council, the European Commission – and even a piece of the Berlin Wall! - The beautiful Leopold Park: once a university campus, it still features many stunning buildings from that era - A visit to the peaceful Citizens' Garden - European Parliament area - Luxembourg Square The tour, its content, and the starting/ending point can all be tailored to your needs and preferences. Don’t hesitate to get in touch!
