Overview of your Brussels tour
Visit from Brussels or elsewhere in the region to the Waterloo battlefield. This is a 3 hour tour minimum. Transport by own transportation or by request from Brussels. A sunrise visit is always beautiful because you feel like the 'guard' or 'grenadier' preparing for battle. . . Understand why this battle was fought then, here, why, how and by whom. We can end the tour in the historic Mont-Saint-Jean restaurant/café (with a separate museum at the venue even) or do this closer to the Waterloo battlefield museum (drinks / food at own expense). You can include a guided visit of the Waterloo museum and the Panorama and Lion Mount, and/or a visit to the Hougoumont Farm. Please note that the entry tickets to the Museums (one entry per person for all venues) is not included in the tour price.
Your Brussels tour itinerary
* Every combination is possible. Message me to discuss further. * Meet in 'Waterloo' in front of the Waterloo Battlefield Museum (Route du Lion) or from Brussels, at Central Station or any place of you choice in Brussels (transport can be organized - when more than 4 persons, there are added costs). I will guide you through the museum venues. Go on the Lion's Mount with you and trek for an hour around the Allied side of the battlefield (2 hours min. when meeting on-site, 3 hrs when from and back to Brussels). All is then possible: visit the French side, the Prussian disputed towns and the 16 June battlefields south of Waterloo. This is a separate tour, may be added to the main Waterloo battlefield tour (2 hours min. ). The surroundings of the Waterloo battlefield can also be done on foot, with a 4-hour walk through field tracks, cobblestone roads, forest and small hills and villages (a museum visit, if wanted, can be added). By bike or in a driving tour (Genappe, Ligny, Quatre-Bras).
