Belgium is my country. I have had the pleasure to welcome tourists to discover it for over 10 years. I have a degree in art history and I have been active as a culture journalist since 2013. I love to tell stories about Brussels and all the other Belgian cities, whether they are about their rich past or their compelling present. My passion is Belgian culture in all of its forms: art, architecture, music, but also food and local customs. I am also happy to share about what is like to live here everyday, giving a glimpse into what is beautiful about it, but also what is strange and what perhaps sets this place apart from every other one in the world. I have a lot of experience in hospitality too, helping out at hotels for years. This means that beyond a rich tour focusing on history and culture, I am also happy to help with all the practical necessities a tourist might have during a trip here. My goal is for visitors to have the greatest time Belgium has to give.

Not many things are more iconic in Brussels than its incredible Art Nouveau houses. Between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, Brussels was one of the capitals of the new trends in architecture and interior design, which would influence Europe and beyond. As an art historian and culture journalist I have been exploring the incredible Art Nouveau and Art Deco heritage in Brussels for over 10 years. I have visited and learned about some of the most important buildings belonging to these architecture currents and I look forward to sharing these beauties with visitors from abroad. Brussels neighborhoods like Schaerbeek, St Gilles, Ixelles and Uccle are rich with Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings that merged aesthetic novelties of the time with the finest craftsmanship Belgium could offer. Plunge into the atmosphere of the new wealthy class of the late 19th century and see what their houses looked like.
A basic 4 hour tour will include some of the best examples of Art Nouveau, including the House Horta, Hotel Solvay, House Hannon. With more time at our disposal, I can also include other Art Nouveau buildings such as House Cauchie, House Saint Cyr, various buildings in Saint Gilles, plus a look at great Art Nouveau interior design and furniture in the Art and History Museum and at the Comic Book Museum. An Art Deco 4-hour tour will include the Villa Empain, the Van Buuren House, the Stoclet Palace. If more time is available, I can also guide you to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Koekelberg (one the biggest church buildings in Europe and one of the Art Deco masterpieces worldwide). Please contact me if you wish to extend this tour beyond four hours.

This is mostly a walking tour. However, we might also take the metro or taxi for a few stops in order to reach some Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings located a bit further.
