Mostly monks have contributed to the Belgian cheese specificity. On the current territory of Belgium more than seventy abbeys existed in the order of the Cistercians alone. Several of these have continued the tradition of pure artisan production. Not only of cheese, but "everything that goes with it". . . : bread, artisanal syrups and especially the famous abbey beers which are making of Belgium "the"country of beers. What about Belgian Fries : simply the best in the world ! We will end the tour by a tasting of chocolates and a delicious waffle !

Danielle was a fantastic tour guide and had a lot of information on the history of Brussels but with lots of time to sit and enjoy all the local favorite treats and drinks in the best shops and restaurants. We tasted beer (for non beer lovers, I had a Kriek which was slightly cherry flavored but not sweet and very refreshing), cheese, chocolate at two different shops, liege and Brussels waffles, saw the little peepee boy, peepee girl and dog, secret passages, covered passage, grand square. 5* stars!!
