After having studied languages, I immediately embraced tourism. I have guided for several Belgium tour operators for years. That way I gained a lot of experience and still do! It is my passion to help people understand, discover Belgium and love its great cities: their architecture, history and way of living over the centuries and especially Brussels, since 1997 the capital of Europe! I hope to help you discover the city/ies, to take part in the pace of life! I have lived in the center of Brussels until recently, when I moved to a suburban area (in need of a garden!) We'll admire the historical and architectural highlights, be moved by the creations of the famous art masters and join the people in their quest for gourmet specialties, typical pastimes and fun! All historival cities now have multicultural aspects that will surprise you too! Your suggestions and special demands are welcome. Let's have a great time on foot, by (electric) bike, by car or public transport ! Travel through 10 centuries of Brussels history in just 4 hours! Explore the old port district with its medieval gabled houses, now seafood taverns and beer pubs. See the only visible part of the Zenne River, once the city’s lifeline. Visit the Gothic Cathedral of Saint Michael, a royal landmark for figures like Charles V and Napoleon. Discover the Coudenberg Hill with the Royal Palace and the remains of the 12th-century palace beneath it. At the Grand Sablon and Petit Sablon, enjoy the elegance of Brussels’ last five centuries. The Grand-Place, with its gold-plated guild houses, reveals the city’s bourgeois past—and the tragic history of 1568. Finish by admiring the Belle Epoque façades and Art Nouveau architecture from the reign of Leopold II.
Start at Saint Géry Halles See the only open-air section of the River Zenne, surrounded by medieval and Belle Epoque buildings. Walk to Saint Cathérina Square Discover the old fish market and its 19th-century fountain. Cross the historic center Pass by the Grand-Place, Manneken Pis, and the Galerie de la Reine. Visit the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula Walk to the Royal District See the Royal Palace, Warande Park, and continue to the Sablon area with its elegant statues and historic buildings. End of the tour Finish at a location of your choice or enjoy a drink stop, for example at the Magritte Bar. This itinerary is flexible and can be customized upon request.
