Brussels Through the Centuries: Half-day history walking tour

We were a party of four mature travelers. We booked a three hour walking tour with Eric to see Brussels. He was knowlegable and was able to answer all of our questions and spoke clearly and we communicated well We told him we wanted to understand the culture, history and people of Brussels. When we arrived, we immediately began our tour. He took us down a street that had a lot of sex shops and I think he chose he street to point out certain historical sites and architecture, it gave us a very negative impression of the City. We were there for three days and explored the City on our own on subsequent days and found our impression changed greatly from what he showed us. We enjoyed Brussels, found great food, reasonable prices, lots of history, interesting architecture, etc... I'm just glad we got to see more of theCity and our first impression was not our last.

We had Erik as our guide for 2 days (2 separate tours). This particular tour was a great way for us to explore the historical part of the Brussels in 1/2 day. Erik was very knowledgeable and it worked out very well for my wife and myself.

Erik H. did an excellent job on the tour. He took us all around Brussels, showing us many places we would not have found by ourselves. I really liked going into the Town Hall and taking the elevator to the roof for the view. Erik pointed out good places to shop and to eat. I also really liked the beer store (amazing!) -- I wished we were going to be in Brussels longer so we could enjoy more of the city. Highly recommend Erik.

We had a very good walking tour of Brussels with Eric. He knows most of the important history of the city, and he included a part of the city that has become a sort of immigrant settlement area. While it’s not so nice, it is a significant part of current Brussels life. We stopped for a coffee in a local hangout and he indicated a couple of places for us to get a typical Belgian lunch. It’s an interesting and informative tour.

Eric was the perfect guide for this tour. He was fully knowledgeable in the subject matter, very personable, and extremely important to me, he took into account those aspects of the tour that I particularly wanted to see as well as those aspects I preferred to pass on. I give him an A+

Erik is pleasant company, a very experienced guide as he has done such all over Europe. The hours we spent with him passed easily. He took a lot of time keeping us on the less used routes, away from the many tourists in this city. We enjoyed seeing the 1400s buildings in contrast to what dominates the old city now. We even did a little shopping for chocolate, he and my wife are fans.
