After having studied languages, I immediately embraced tourism. I have guided for several Belgium tour operators for years. That way I gained a lot of experience and still do! It is my passion to help people understand, discover Belgium and love its great cities: their architecture, history and way of living over the centuries and especially Brussels, since 1997 the capital of Europe! I hope to help you discover the city/ies, to take part in the pace of life! I have lived in the center of Brussels until recently, when I moved to a suburban area (in need of a garden!) We'll admire the historical and architectural highlights, be moved by the creations of the famous art masters and join the people in their quest for gourmet specialties, typical pastimes and fun! All historival cities now have multicultural aspects that will surprise you too! Your suggestions and special demands are welcome. Let's have a great time on foot, by (electric) bike, by car or public transport ! In the morning, visit Brussels' XIII-century Cathedral of Saint Michael, known for its stunning stained glass windows depicting the legend of the Pierced Host. Continue to the XII-century Saint Nicolas Church at Grand Place, home to relics of Dutch Catholic martyrs. Next, explore the impressive Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Koekelberg, a rare example of Art Deco religious architecture, housing a relic of Pope Paul II. In Anderlecht, step back in time at the Erasmus House, Brussels’ oldest residence, now a museum dedicated to the 15th-century philosopher. Nearby, discover the Saint Peter and Saint Guidon Church, a pilgrimage site, and the charming XIV-century beguinage.
