Brussels and Ghent: 2 amazing cities in a day

We spent half a day in Brussels and then went on the train with Albert to Ghent to view that city's highlights as well. He gave us flawless directions to get back on the train on our own. Albert's background as a journalist and historian is very evident - so knowledgeable and eager to share his knowledge.

Albert was great. We were delayed in arriving in Belgium due to a strike at the airport. Albert was very accommodating, adjusting our start time. We enjoyed a tour of Ghent and Bruges. He had many interesting stories to make it a fun tour. My wife developed some hip mobility issues and Albert adjusted our itinerary to help ensure her comfort. Highly recommend Albert for your tour in Belgium.

Met Albert at the train station and started in Ghent before moving on to Bruges. Each city has its own character from the hybrid feel of Ghent to the quaint medieval atmosphere of Bruges. Albert expertly walked us through sites in each city and we seemed to weave our way from one interesting location to another. It was raining for a good part of the day but somehow we avoided getting very wet. Was constantly amazed how Albert could quickly and easily move from a historical description of a building to an etymology discussion of the origin of a word to dissecting the details in a piece of art. It was a day full of fascination not to be missed.

Albert was knowledgeable, personable, and very accommodating. Cannot think of a better introduction to Belgium history or culture.

Albert was simply delightful from start to finish! He's the kind of knowledgeable and passionate person that is infectious with his gifts. He makes you want to learn it all and hope to catch some of his constant joy and wonder while you're at it! He literally laughs 1000 times a day with bemusement at the wonders of his gorgeous historical cities that he must have seen 1000 times. What a gift he is and gives.
