Get in the footsteps of the soldiers who fought during the hard winter in december 1944 till the 25th of january 1945. Visit Bastogne, the city which was encircled by the Germans and defended in fiercely fight by the Americans. During the walking tour in Bastogne, we will follow the trails of General Patton and General McAuliffe. This last said his famous reply to the German's request for surrender: "Aw, nuts!". Discover the actual places where the famous Easy Company and the rest of the 101st Airborne Division (the "Screaming Eagles") fought against the Germans in the forests of Foy. Have the opportunity to pay your respects at the Ardennes American cemetery, the final resting place for 5, 162 American soldiers.
- We go by car to Bastogne. - Walking tour in the city where we learn about the Battle of the Bulge and the fiercely American resistance. - On your request I can show you one of these museums: 1. Bastogne Barracks, outstanding exhibition of American and German vehicles and artillery pieces, all engaged in the Battle of the Bulge. 2. 101 Airborne Museum: A small but well thought out museum with lots of artefacts and very good wax work scenario. You can experience a German Bombardment in its bomb shelter room. - Time for lunch. - Visit to the Mardasson-Memorial inaugurated in presence of General McAuliffe. - Visit to the Bois Jacques woods and Foy where the E Company fought against the Germans. - We pay our respects at the Ardennes American cemetery (close to Liege).
