The Magic of Bruges at Night Private Tour

My family voted Bruges at Night as its favorite activity of our visit to the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg. Nighttime Bruges is charming, somewhat romantic, and less crowded than daytime. Flavia is friendly and knowledgable, and she set a walking pace that was more like a stroll through a beautiful city than a tour that needed to be walked on schedule. Photographers and lovers will delight in a tour of Bruges by night! Long after the crowds have departed the Markt, night creeps in and stars and canal lights begin their glow. Flavia knew where every quiet corner of moonlit Bruges lay and guided us to where every magical photo-worthy site awaited. We would never have found these areas during the day but Flavia threaded through the medieval streets with ease, sharing a special comment with each step.

This was really a day two extension, so that we could see even more of Bruges. The parts where the tourists generally do not go. We learned about the God Houses, the role of windmills and about "the great migration" when virtually every tourist heads out of Bruges towards the bus parking and train station area. Bruges becomes such a different place at night. So peaceful, so safe, and so beautiful.

Flavia was an absolute delight! An evening walking tour with her was the best possible way to familiarize ourselves with the layout of Bruges while also learning of its history and notable buildings and sites, of which there's a dizzying number. She gave us an excellent overview of the old city, an introduction to "Real Belgium Beer" at a tiny pub, and chose a restaurant serving delicious Belgian specialties where we spent a very companionable and informative dinnertime together. We recommend her highly!

Meeting us at our hotel, Flavia led us through parts of Bruges that we had not seen on our own. It was into neighborhoods with interesting pubs and restaurants, out to the dike and windmills - away from the main square. All along the paths, she had enchanting stories to tell. Because of the time of year and the change to daylight savings time, the tour was more of a "dusk" than a "night" tour, which benefited the experience. She clearly loves her city and her tours are enthusiastically done.
