Hi! I am Koen, born and raised in Bruges. I am what they call 'a local'. I grew up in this mysterious city, so I know Bruges like the back of my hand. Besides being a motivated city guide, I am also a committed historian. When I'm not busy guiding people around downtown, you'll probably find me doing historical research or writing a book or an article. I think the combination of guide and historian is ideal. After all, this way I can continue to delve into the rich past of the city, but I can also share my findings and discoveries with other people. In this way, the historic flame continues to burn. Actually, it was already written in the stars that I would become a city guide, since I have often wandered around the Bruges streets since I was a child, looking for facts, legends and the story behind things. I therefore hope that I can transfer the historical spark to you and let you enjoy the magic of my city. In addition to the more classic tours, where we discover together the most important monuments and places in the city, I also offer more personalized tours. Although I prefer to meet in the city center, if necessary I can also pick you up by car at the station, a hotel outside the city or the ferry.
