We very much enjoyed our Brugge tour with Koen, inspite of the absolutely miserable weather which did cause our time to be cut short a bit. The authentic city does not require the usual touristification many older cities have to rely on, which helped Koen's presentation. His materials are well organized and prepared, which allowed him to answer all our questions without pause. The architecture is captivating, but Koen also clarified how traffic passing rights and taxation drove much of the development and re-development of the very well preserved and carefully restored city. Europe has many traditional cities, but few as well intact and maintained as Brugge. Koen is a very popular and respected guide in Brugge as is acknowleded by the numerous greetings from other guides. When searching in bookstores for his work the attendants confirm this!
