Vienna Woods - Three hours hiking tour

This private hiking tour is for travelers, who would like to get a local experience, enjoy activities in the fresh air and see another very authentic aspect of Vienna. On this three hour hike (medium difficulty) I will take you to the slopes of the Vienna Woods and through the vineyards with a beautiful view over the river Danube and Vienna. I will make you have a unique experience off the beaten track. A sense of humour complements my narrative, helping to ensure a fun hike. Vienna is the only European capital which cultivates wine within its boundaries and the vineyards are part of the city's landscape on the slopes of the Vienna Woods. You will learn about the wine growing in this area and at the end of the hike you will have the possibility to taste the local wine and food in one of the Heurigen in Grinzing.

We walk first on a rather steep but paved footpath until we reach the top (Leopoldsberg) from where we will have a good view over Vienna and the majestic abbey of Klosterneuburg, a place, connected with the early period of the Austrian duchy. We continue to walk on a comfortable path through the forest to the next hill - Kahlenberg. Then we start descending among the hilly vineyards and end the tour in Grinzing, Vienna's best-known "wine village", dotted with rustic restaurants - "Heuriger", where the wine producers of the region sell their wine. I can adapt the itinerary to light difficulty, if necessary.
