Full day tour Wachau and Melk - Out to the countryside

We leave Vienna to go apr. 80 km westwards to visit the romantic Danube valley called Wachau. It is on one side a historic place which is evident through the many castles and ruins, the churches and monasteries showing the importance of the catholic power during the Habsburg reign. Baroque monasteries, like the Abbey of Melk are impressive testimonials of the glamorous 18th century. We will visit the glamorous monastery of melk with its famous library and marvellous church. On the other side we enjoy a beautiful and romantic landscape, green, soft hills alongside the Danube, vineyards and orchards with the famous apricot trees. The rich harvest of the gardens is resembled in wonderful culinary experiences in the restaurants and vintner's gardens. We stop at lovely picturesque towns like Krems and Dürnstein where we may taste the products of the local farmers. A beautiful day in the countryside is waiting for us
