Private tour of Imperial Vienna

Join me for a fun, entertaining walk through Vienna's Old Town — its palaces, churches, squares, and quiet backstreets — and discover the complete, immersive story of the city that once ruled an empire. We'll take in the grand monuments, the architecture, the hidden symbolism, and the stories most visitors never hear. Meet the Habsburgs, the family who tried to conquer the world — not by war, but by marriage. It worked brilliantly, until they started marrying their own cousins one too many times and turned inbreeding into a family tradition. Still, they held on for six centuries, and their old capital stands today as one giant monument to their reign. Their story is pure soap opera, and I love telling it. I'll share the same passion for this city that brought me here in the first place. I came to Vienna for its history — I stayed for everything else. The tour begins either at your hotel — if you're staying in the Old Town — or in front of St. Stephen's Cathedral, right in the heart of Vienna. From there we walk through Vienna's UNESCO-listed Old Town, taking in both its most famous landmarks and the lesser-known gems most visitors miss. Along the way we'll see: St. Stephen's Cathedral The old University quarter, with its narrow passages and its stunning Baroque Jesuit Church Mozart's house Kärntnerstrasse Graben Kohlmarkt and the historic Demel confectionery The Hofburg Palace complex, including Heroes' Square and the Spanish Riding School Maria-Theresien-Platz City Hall (Rathaus) Parliament The Academy of Fine Arts The State Opera ...and more. The tour ends at the State Opera, or, on request, along the Ringstrasse. Halfway through, I offer an optional break for coffee, tea, and cake — or coffee to go — at one of my favorite Viennese coffeehouses. This is entirely optional and not part of the standard tour.
