I'm Marisa, archaeologist and qualified tourist guide of Rome, specialist in historical and archaeological tours.
Born and raised in Rome (a real local!), the love for my city is the reason why I've studied Classical Archaeology at University of Rome. As part of my training I've dug in the Roman Forum, my second house ;)
I attended the Specialisation School in Archaeological Heritage, an Italian post-degree diploma, and in the meanwhile I started studying to become a professional tourist guide with a regular certification. Best job in the world for an archaeologist! I've created this profile to promote my in-depth archaeological walks for history lovers.

MY QUALIFICATIONS

I've passed the examination, published by the Provincia di Roma (Roman Provincial Administration): I'm a qualified tourist guide of Rome. So I'm 100% certified guide, and this is my full-time job. Please remember that in Italy we must be qualified to work as a guide!

I love to share my knowdlege and passion, my guided tours are suggested for history lovers. Each tour is a journey through the ages to discover the history of the Roman Empire and its majestic shrines, with me as your guide, ready to reply to all your questions.

I'm NOT the right guide for you if you want to see Rome in one day (impossible!) or just tick a box in a list!

If needed, we can take taxi to reach the museum/archaeological site

This is a tour for all those who already know the Colosseum and the Roman Forum or who want to know more about the ancient Roman time. . . We will go together to walk across squares and narrow streets of a small but real city, the famous Ostia, whose name means "the mouth of the river"; in fact, the Romans during the Republican period built a colony at the mouth of the river Tiber, to increase their commercial activies and exchanges with the other populations or lands in the area of Mediterranean Sea.
