I am a native Copenhagener with a deep knowledge of Denmark. I have lived and travelled abroad extensively, and I really enjoy welcoming foreigners to the city I love so much.

I both do walking tours in Copenhagen and bike or bus tours in or out of Copenhagen. My tours are always custom-designed to fit your interests and needs, and I hope you will experience that you both meet a local friend but also a deeply professional tour guide who really knows his city and culture and can put together a great tour and a great day/days for you.

My interests span history over architecture and city planning to modern society and life in Denmark and beyond. I have guided professionally since 2014, but I also have a human resource background and a M. Sc. in Intercultural communication, and when I don't do guided tours, I teach Danish culture and Danish business culture to high-skilled foreigners coming to Copenhagen to work through my own company. Some of the low season, I also lead tours through Europe for an Australian company.

Most of my tours in Copenhagen are walking tours, simply because it's the best way to explore inner Copenhagen and the surrounding districts - it's a compact city, and cars don't have a high priority, so walking (or biking) is the best way to get around the central parts of the city. (If you prefer biking or bussing instead of walking, that is also possible).

For tours outside Copenhagen I mostly use a trusted bus driver and his bus, but I can also make (more economical) versions using public transport.

I would like to give you a tour where you both see the Copenhagen highlights but also satisfy your curiosity of the modern life in Denmark, whatever your interests might be.

During the longer tour, I like to include places where you can try a traditional Danish lunch - the "smørrebrød" (open faced sandwiches) - probably the most important addition from the Danish kitchen, and a thing I something do workshops in myself and like to present to guests.

Apart from living in Copenhagen, I have spent 4-5 years living abroad (the United States, Argentina and Germany especially).

I like to do outstanding tours and service, so if you need some help to plan the rest of your trip in Copenhagen before or after our tour, I am also happy to give advice. I really like meeting people from other countries, and hope to see you on one of my tours.

Broad and deep knowledge of Denmark, Europe and beyond - traveling, living abroad, and meeting people from different cultures have been my interest since childhood.

I will not drive myself but hire a driver and van (or accompany you in your vehicle) on the tours that requires driving. (Both for insurance reasons and because I like to focus on the guiding).

On this tour, we will visit some of the most important sights outside Copenhagen, while spending 6 hours with the use of a private bus.

The tour will be adjusted to fit your interests on the day, or before, but at a normal pace we will be able to cover: the highlights of Roskilde (Cathedral and Viking Museum) and Frederiksborg Castle. Or Frederiksborg castle and Kronborg castle. Plus see some things on the way. 

Depending on where we go (and your hunger!), we can have lunch either at a "Viking restaurant" (Old, new Nordic cuisine!) or a street food market - or a traditional Danish restaurant serving smørrebrød and other dishes (setting a little more time aside).

I have been a guide for ten years and thoroughly enjoy showing the beautiful surroundings of Copenhagen to visitors. I love our country's history which this tour invites anyone to explore, and I really like when guests have had a full and rewarding day they will never forget.

Six hour tour of Zealand with bus July 14

On this tour, we will explore the most significant parts of inner Copenhagen. We will mostly be in the medieval part of town - and see a few things outside such as Amalienborg where the queen lives, the Marble church, and the iconic Nyhavn (New Harbour).

We will explore the origins of Copenhagen, the era of the powerful kings, the reformation, the birth of democracy, and not least the modern life as it takes place in this old city, be it architectural high-lights or the biking culture.

I have a wide area of interests that I can draw on, and from living abroad (in the US, Argentina and Germany), I can also put things into perspective. I thoroughly enjoy exploring Copenhagen, my native city, with visitors, and I look forward to make it the best possible day for you.

The Classic Copenhagen Nov 15, 2024 - Two hour walking tour

There are other things to chat about as we walk and I will introduce you to what Bernie Sanders calls "the Danish Model" (thinking of which we see where The Danish Girl was filmed!).

I love to shop (much to the chagrin of my wife!), Copenhagen has the best and most varied shops in Scandinavia- if shopping is your passion, I can help.

We will have time to stop for a coffee and a Danish pastry which is an essential experience when visiting Denmark.

This is not a forced march, it is a pleasant stroll seeing the best of Copenhagen accompanied by a guide who loves and knows his city.
