I was born in a farming village in southern Sardinia. I am a tourist guide and archaeologist specialized in Prehistory of Sardinia. My father passed down to me the passion for archaeology and for my land. I decided to work as a guide because I enjoy working with people and I like to share my passion for Sardinia. I have been working as a guide since 2010 and I know the Sardinian island very well, not only from an archaeological but also cultural and naturalistic point of view. I avoid places that are too touristy and crowded. I like to learn about and understand other cultures, that's why I visited several countries in the world and I lived in England and Spain. I love working with small and/or private groups because it allows me to create more professional, yet personal and down-to-earth relationships with clients. The CAR I use for my excursions is 5 SEATS car is a NEW DACIA DUSTER 2026: is a spacious SUV equipped with every comfort. It's a full hybrid, environmentally friendly and in keeping with my always eco-sustainable tours. For more then 4 people I can arrange a minivan. I'm also registered as a official driver with a KB driving license to be able to accompany clients in complete safety. Each excursion is different and stands out from the others because those who travel with me are an active part and make their own contribution to each experience, with their own character and personality. Working with people who visit Sardinia is a continuous exchange of knowledge, experiences and life! What I like and don't like. I like: dogs, because they love you unconditionally; hiking, because hikers are used to saying hello even if they don't know each other; nuraghi, because inside them I feel at home ; Sardinian ravioli: culurgiones, because they are very good!In general I love nature, forests and uncrowded places! I do not like: the city traffic; to spend Sunday in front of the TV. I do not work with large groups, but only as a private guide or for very small groups, because I believe it is important to empathize with the travelers I meet. I started doing this tour because when I go to visit Vittoria and her family I feel at home! The popular Zac Efron (with the Netflix series) and Mark Ruffalo from the United States wanted to try this unmissable family experience in a small town in the beautiful mountains of Sardinia! It is a Full day excursion to Aritzo village, in the center of Sardinia, where an American research team investigated the genetic trait of its inhabitants and found out the presence of nearly 10 times more centenarians per capita than the rest of the world. Many shepherds live in this beautiful part of Sardinia, surrended by and enchanting and magical forest . Vittoria and her family will welcome us in a festive atmosphere and teach us the secrets of a slow life and the traditional recipes of Sardinian cuisine. We will eat with the family and spend a day that we will remember for a lifetime! We will learn how to make the bread of the shepherds and we will have lunch all together in the grandmother's house.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our full day's tour Laura. Laura, being a native Sardinian, is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about sharing anything about Sardinia with you. She is very easy going. We loved everything (Su Nuraxi di Barumini, Pasta/Bread making then having lunch with Grandma Vittoria and family, and visiting a Carpenter/Furniture builder). Most of all, we loved our shared conversations and laughter.
Laura is the epitome of the kind of guide you want. We had a wonderful time taking a journey into the heart of Sardinia and learning about the ancient history and modern traditions of a unique culture. The purpose of this adventure was my husband's birthday, and Laura ensured we had a memorable time. I cannot thank her enough for making everything special. Everyone who wants to know the real Sardinia should take this tour. The kindness shown by the residents of Artizo was overwhelming.
We were warmly welcomed by the family and we got right to work learning how to make ravioli and other pastas that this family enjoys. We used their wood fired oven to make bread and then sat and ate together along with red wine, cheese and meats and the pastas we made. Laura translated all of our conversation to the family as well as instructing us how to roll the dough. We were 4 women and a young man and enjoyed every minute. Laura made this day fun and interesting for all of us. This was the best tour!
-Departure from Cagliari, crossing an area full of beautiful woods. -Aritzo visit & Carpenter visit: he will tell us how he has inherited the passion for this ancient craft from generations. -Fresh Pasta (ravioli & gnocchetti sardi) & Carasau bread workshop: we will learn how to make the bread sheperds. - Family lunch all together at Grandma's. Vittoria and her family will tell us the story of their family and how time passes slowly in this small Sardinian town. -If interested, we can also see the shepherd who makes the cheese according to the season. - Old prison visit & ancient noble house (this stop can be changed to Barumini archaeological Unesco site, if guests are interested in archaeology). - Transfer back to Hotel in Cagliari Please contact me for customization.
