San Benedetto Market and Highlights of Cagliari Half Day Tour

A walking tour through the medieval districts of Cagliari, La Marina and Castello, till we reach the indoor Market of San Benedetto: one of the most interesting ways to discover our traditions and culture. Walk amid the rowdy and colourful stands and taste the typical Sardinian food. I can translate for you what the fishermen shout at the visitors in Sardinian language. Very funny and interesting how they try to charm the customers showing the fresh fish. A unique experience! This market is definitely the best chance to know the Cagliaritani, the inhabitants of the capital of Sardinia, and to experience their longlasting traditions. We will also have a little break in a typical cafè, to enjoy an espresso and a delicious pastry. Yummi! *N. B. This tour doesn't operate on Sundays and Mondays, as the market is closed. For the 2025 and the 2026 the Market is under restoration so has been temporarily moved to another building

• Walk through the Medieval district La Marina, visit the San Sepolcro Church with its beautiful chapels and the interesting crypt. This is a very animated district, where most of the streets are pedestrians, and full of shops and "trattorie" (typical restaurants). • We walk uphill, stop in front of the Bastione Saint Remy for a pic, then we reach the romanesque Cathedral of Saint Mary and we visit the inside, rich with artworks. • Stop for a break in a cozy café and from a panoramic terrace we will enjoy the view over the city. Photo stop in front of the medieval tower of Saint Pancrazio, and pass through the medieval gate to reach the medieval district, Villanova. • In 15 minutes, walking downhill through the nice streets, we reach the Market. Colors, smells of delicious food, chatters of the visitors will make this visit unique. Talk with the locals, taste the food, do what the "cagliaritani" do. •We will go back to the center with the public bus. This tour can be customized. Please ask for details!
