Paola gave us a wonderful tour of Cagliari and the Sardinian countryside. We toured the ruins of the Nuraghe people at Burmini, where we walked and climbed through the ancient complex of buildings, Paola was very knowledgeable about the site and show us lots of drawings and explained the history of it. The highlight of the trip was a cooking class in the home of a Sardinian woman who prepared a traditional meal for us. Pupa and her friends were so gracious and friendly, teaching us how to make the pasta, letting us taste the sauce, and generally making us feel welcome. After the food was prepared, neighbors and other family came in for a big luncheon with homemade wine and delicious food. Everyone was very welcoming and it was an authentic experience that we will always remember. I highly recommend Paola as a guide. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.

Overview of your Cagliari tour
In this tour we will go to a local restaurant in Barumini, a village in the Marmilla region, where we will prepare with the chef the traditional dishes of our island: ravioli and culurgiones. We're also going to see the vegetable garden , so bring comfortable shoes! What I really like is the way the cuoca loves cooking and the passion in explaining to her guests what are her secrets for a good meal! While the food gets cooked, we will go to explore the archaeological site Su Nuraxi, patronized by the UNESCO. It will leave you speechless as its amazing buildings date back to the Bronze age. Once the visit is finished, we go back to the restaurant to taste the meals we prepared. On the way back to Cagliari, an orientation tour is made by car Buon appetito!

We indulged in an amazing lunch from the fruits of our labor making the regional speciality pasta with nonna! Paola is very knowledgable about the history of the archaeological site as well as other other sites and interests within Sardinia. Paola created an incredible experience for us! We first made pasta and then she took us to Su Nuraxi di Barumini. Wow! Throughout the day Paola went out of her way to show us additional highlights in Cagliari. Her knowledge was exceptional and I would highly recommend spending a day with her. Your Cagliari tour itinerary
After a 50 minutes drive along the Campidano area and its fields, we reach the Marmilla area and its beautul hills. We arrive at a local restaurant where we are going to do the cooking lesson, using the products of their lands. Don't be afraid of touching the dough, nor using your own hands to make the delicious ravioli! It's an extraordinary experience. We walk nearby to their vegetable garden, amid the olive trees, to pick what we need for our meal. We then drive 5 minutes to reach the excavation site Su Nuraxi, and we visit it. The visit is split in two: the first part is an easy walking in the archaeological site, the second is climbing the massive building using the Bronze age steps and corridors. A unique experience! We then drive back to the restaurant for lunch, and we will taste what we prepared with our own hands. Buon appetito! After lunch and a delicious espresso, we drive back to Cagliari along the same route. I can customize the tour for up to 7 people
