A capital generally boasts a bustling atmosphere, in terms of its economy, culture and night-life, and Bucharest makes no exception. Whatever one may find in Romania will most likely be met in Bucharest. It is the place where most artists, students, money and fame make their way. Besides all that, Bucharest remains a place with lots of shaded alleys, grand mansions, quiet parks, with so much to show, from its old-Wallachian beginnings in the 15th century, as the citadel of Bucur the Shepherd on a ford of River Dambovita, through its golden inter-war period as Little Paris of the East, up to Communist times, with its megalomaniac buildings and avenues, culminating with the Palace of Parliament, world's second largest edifice. Through all this and more, Bucharest represents so much more than simply a place for business tourism, yet a hidden gem to unveil to many.
The tour may start from the customer's hotel anywhere in Bucharest, or from the Otopeni International Airport.
Our first visit in Bucharest, the dynamic Romanian capital, is at the Village Museum, part of the beautiful Herastrau Park. Passing by the Triumphal Arch, the Victoria Palace, Government headquarters, and the 'Grigore Antipa' Natural Science Museum, we continue through the Victoriei, the Romana, the Universitatii and the Unirii Squares, admiring the University, the Coltea Hospital and Church, and the Sutu Palace buildings. We stop at the Palace of Parliament, world's second largest building, for a guided tour (if local administrator's decisions allow that). A stroll through the open-air restaurants of the Old Town Center offers a traditional lunch opportunity, and a visit to Dracula's Old Court.
We continue through the Cismigiu Park and along the Calea Victoriei Street, with the former Royal Palace and the Atheneum, then we return to the customer's arrival destination, be it a hotel or the airport.

Marvelous guide...English excellent! Knowledge of city, people, history delivered in a thoughtful and balanced manner. He was not a stuffed shirt! Very relaxed and interested in our comfort and satisfaction. He picked a great place for lunch and made great menu suggestions. We would have missed all this on a bus tour or if we tried to do this on our own. My wife and I could not have been more pleased. We were in Bucharest for a short time but we felt we saw a great deal. Marvelous few hours!
