Hello! I am Silvana, a passionate tour guide at your service. Welcome to Romania! Let my young demeanor not fool you - I am a BA in Art History with a master's degree in Museum Studies and a keen interest in social history, responsible tourism, and lifelong learning (among other things). I see myself really privileged to have such a wonderful profession: I get to meet people from all around the world, share quality time & conversations with them, do exciting new things and see the most beautiful places every day. It's not a job, I tell you, it's a dream come true! Why book a tour with me? *Born and raised in Bucharest, I know the city's most surprising details which I am eager to share with you on fun walking tours. *On my private half-day and full-day trips I do my best to provide more than so-called "facts". Instead, I try to offer fresh and nuanced insights into past and present Romania. *I am always up-to-date with all the exciting things around town - on my tours you will get lots of tips about what to see and do while in Bucharest. *Last but not least - all my tours are thoroughly prepared in advance and will be carefully adapted to your specific needs and interests. Got any questions or suggestions? Or want to book a tour? Drop me a line and I will get back to you in no time! Credentials: National Tourism Guide certified by the Romanian Ministry of Tourism BA in Art History and Theory (University of Bucharest) MA in Museum Studies and Critical Theory (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) I do not drive but can accompany you in your vehicle. FYI: Most museums in Bucharest are closed on Mondays & public holidays and some (like the Palace of Parliament and the Ceausescu Mansion) have their own guides for interior visits.

Discover Bucharest through its surprising mix of flavors! What better way to get a taste of a new culture than by exploring the many different hues and aromas that make up its local cuisine? Old & new, cheap & expensive, traditional & avant-garde - you name it! Bucharest's gastronomical offer has it all. Not to mention the excellent choice of Romanian wines that turn any meal into a small celebration of life. Though I am by no means a connoisseur I do love a good glass of liquid poetry and will gladly provide wine-tasting opportunities for my guests. Whether wine is or isn't your thing I am pretty sure you'd like to try a delicious 'ciorba' followed by some nice 'sarmale with mamaliga' and maybe some 'papanashi' for dessert. . . My mouth is watering already! Give your taste buds an experience to remember while also getting to know the why's behind Romania's diverse cooking and eating habits.
I plan on surprising you with every step of this food tour. Therefore I will do my best to first find out your interests and tastes in food and then offer an itinerary made just for you! Some of the regular stops on this tour include: * a local fresh produce market * a family-run deli store specialized in cold cuts, cheeses, and other yummy things * a delicious pastry shop I've been in love with since high-school * the best coffeehouses in town * the nicest restaurants serving traditional food - typical dishes from all the historical regions of Romania. The list is long and open to your particular preferences. As for the sights you are going to visit during our tour - rest assured they will include the most important edifices and squares of modern Bucharest as well as the intricate streets and stories of the Old Town dating back to the Middle Ages. Got any precise theme you are interested in or a must-see monument? Write me an e-mail and I will get back to you asap!
