My name is Dan, I am 30 and I was born in Timisoara, came to Bucharest when I was seven, but my family originates from all around Romania. With an authentic passion for history (my first book ever read when I learned to do that was a history book), participating in national history contests in high-school and with history University studies, I am enthusiastic in sharing my knowledge with my guests.
I started doing private tours with guests from all over the world when I was 20 (and never stopped since then), while I was still studying. A Master's degree in Tourism came naturally and now I manage a 4 star hotel in Bucharest, but doing private tours is still the thing I enjoy the most! That and also travelling myself, trying to visit a new destination every year!
As you should do also! The Danube's last stint in Europe, surrounding the Carpathian Mountains and forming shores at the Black Sea; split between Europe's greatest Empires throughout history, Romania is a special place, somewhere between east and west, it has many things to offer if you know where to look and I can help you do just that. Let's discover it together!
A Recent Review of this guide
We had 1.5 excellent days with Dan and covered many sites inside Bucharest and the surrounding area. Dan's knowledge of history and culture and his outgoing personality and approach to guiding made it quite enjoyable and the time passed way too fast! We were especially pleased with how Dan not only showed us the sights with history and background but also explained why he was showing them to us. We left with much more appreciation of Romania's history and certainly want to come back for more!
