Welcome to Montevideo! My name is Shai, and I am passionate about bringing history to life through dynamic, interactive, and immersive experiences. As an experienced tour guide and community educator, I specialize in cultural and heritage tourism, with a deep focus on Jewish history and identity. I am the founder and director of the Jewish Museum initiative in Uruguay, a former Director of Jewish Studies at the Catholic University, and an active volunteer in multiple community initiatives. With years of experience designing and leading itineraries both in Uruguay and abroad, I offer visitors an enriching journey through Montevideo’s history, culture, and unique Jewish heritage. Academically, I hold a B.A. in Political Science and Humanities from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an M.A. in Business Intelligence from the University of Barcelona. Additionally, I am a member of AIGU (Uruguayan Association of Tour Guides) and the Montevideo Tourism Association. My tours are designed to be engaging, experiential, and memorable. This was a fabulous tour with a leader of the Jewish community in Montevideo. He has the intentional of founding a Jewish History Museum in a Synagogue and we saw a lot, including a striking Holocaust memorial on the water. Very kind person. I recommend the tour wholeheartedly.
